Something happened yesterday, and I need you guys to try and figure it out. Sorry about the long-ness guys, I just need to vent.

Heres the begining, I was on a tactical fieldcraft weekend with the ACF (A weekend long excercise out in the middle of nowhere), and during that I made my Lean-Too (Basha - Tent thing). Inside it was 3 of us, Myself, Tom and Obey.

It was about midnight and a girl (Charlotte) came to see Tom, and she brought a mate (Louise). Louise just sat at the bottom of the tent thing squashed, while Tom and Charlotte touched each other up in there sleeping bag. (It was the last night of the excercise, and as such we where relaxing)

Now, They where breaking the rules by sneaking into our basha (tent), and as such they where very jumpy. (If cuaght they could be chucked out) So Lou just hid down the bottom.

Eventually charlotte went for a piss and this created room for Lou to come up and lie next to me. We started to talk and she just lay there. When charlotte went back we got a bit more comfortable (even though it was a tight squeeze).

It was 1:30AM and she just picked up my hand, and started holding it. We then started doing some weird thing. Just rubbing our fingers in between each others, and stroking the other hand with our thumbs. This went on for until about 4AM. (Yeah, My arm went dead after that!) During this time she took to using my stomach as a pillow and trying to sleep on it. Every now and again she would rub my arm or put her arm around me.

Then when she started to use me as a pillow I used my spare hand to rub her back (She was still clothed of course, I wasnt, I was in my sleeping bag though) . I dont know why.. I just did. (It started off soft but by the end I was rubbing her quite hard) She seemed to get on Ok with this. But sometimes held both of my hands.

If I complained of being cold she'd take my hand in hers and warm them up, and I gave her my combat jacket incase she got cold. Even when she drifted off to sleep (which was frequant, for small periods of time) she would rub my hand and clutch it.

So for hours we held hands, we huddled and she slept on me. The holding hands was so powerfull though - I know it sounds stupids but this is what this thread is about. Every now and again we'd make eye-contact in the dark but the hand-holding? That made me feel so.. so... erh... great? Its hard to describe, but it was the best feeling ever.

This girl seemed special - just because of the hand contact. We hadn't even known eachother more then that day, but I liked her as soon as she spoke to me - even if I did act a little shy. She seemed to get on well with me, well enough to look for me to come and talk to me. And well enough to sneak into our basha at night (and risk getting chucked out).

When 6:10AM came she had to get back to her basha, and said goodbye. And asked me to look for her gloves.

I found them, and gave them to her. We had a quick "Thanks" and then we got back to our work. The rest of the day I noticed her watching me a bit more. And I did really want to say goodbye, but alas, I was withheld a bit late due to reasons out my control - so she had gone by then.

She had asked me if I was going to the christmas meet-up, to which I replied "Yeah.". So I suppose she does want to see again...

But can anyone work out what went on? The holding hands (For HOURS non-stop, and rubbing each-others hand)? Eye contact? The fussing over me? (i.e My stomach rumbled so she kept telling me to eat - She didnt let it go. I sat outside the basha - and she told me to get back in so I dont get cold..)

Im not the type of guy who goes out and gets a new girl everyday, but dont think im the opposite - a guy who converses with the opposite sex once-a-year, if lucky... Tom had said if I wasnt so shy, I could've easily had got laid in the basha by her, or atleast got something. Thats just not me though. (Well, depends on the girl, but this one had a nice personality)

It sounds like she likes you, and maybe you two will get together in a few months and hit it off. Get over your shyness. There's no point in being shy, because girls will take interest in you, but if you don't ever open up then you'll never know.

Hand-holding can be a great experience. This is coming from a guy who's been with a fair number of women. Sometimes that initial hand-holding is just electric, and goddamn does that lead to great sex. I love that feeling of anxiety right before I make a move, even if it's arm around the shoulder or reaching for her hand. I still get that feeling sometimes.

You, OP, got that feeling of closeness to someone, because I think she liked you and you felt that through her touch. It's wonderful, and you should try to be more confident of yourself so that you can meet lots of girls and learn about what it is you like. That's my advice.

Yeah, I like her and I *think* she returned the feelings. But I was going to get her contact details before I left, but I was held back.

So its waiting until the begining of december to see her again! :'(

A similar thing happened to me a week ago, with a girl called Amy. It all started with a massage... *stares off into space*. But the problem was, I dont know if her heart was 'in it' when we fooled around as my hands wandered off her back and around to the front (she had no shirt on for the masssage )

A bit of advice; don't think it's a commitment. She might not see it that was, she might simply see it as a bit of close companionship on a cold night.

Of course, if she really likes you... You're in!
