Any way to cure a social failure?
I am just so terrible at making conversation... not only with girls, but even with my close friends (guys) i just cant seem to make a proper conversation with anyone and feel uncomfortable unless there is a third person who initiates conversation with the other two...
I find myself as the kind of person that wants to be dominated in a conversation, and only just add my opinions, i struggle to think of conversations to start with people and because of that i think im sort of screwed as far as having good relationships with girls goes... would you guys consider this a big problem?

Find a dominant girl, who likes nothing more than to hear the sound of her own voice. You know the type, the ones you can't shut up.

I'm the same way Adam. I find it hard aswell to talk to 1 person, but if here is more than one - well it all goes good. I really dislike it aswell, some one post a cure! :@

If worst comes to worst. Simply act like the silent brooding type.

Is this a recent thing? or has it been happening most/all of your life?

Me too ... It makes me sad, like I don't have the confidence or anything.

Re: Any way to cure a social failure?
uhmm..... i think through most of it.... it just sort of hit me when i thought, hmm was i EVER good at conversation? And the answer there was no not really, the only person i could have good conversation with was my best friend who i knew since i was 3, and no im not really that shy i just can never think of any crap to say, when i try to talk to girls or anything i could probably talk for a while but it would just be 'dead end' conversations or statements and the like, or even unintentional yes or no questions... bah...
Edit: Like the other guy said, i am AMAZING at conversation with a group of people, thats how girls end up liking me, but then they usualy stop once theyre exposed to my pathetic 1 on 1 skills, i just lost such a nice catch because im a failure... dont have/want to risk asking for permission but she was nice, i used my best 'i wana have sex' line "lets go use intraveinous drugs and have unprotected sex" and the response was so very favorable but my lack of seeing her in person and crap talking skills once again killed it.

Re: Any way to cure a social failure?
I'm not good at making conversations either, and I hate almost everyone (except for my boyfriend). So for me, it isn't really a problem, because I don't want to talk to stupid people I don't like anyway.
But one on one conversations aren't that hard, you just gotta ask questions like, how was your day? what did you do? and then like ask more questions about their answers, like if they were in school then what's their favorite class, or if they just sat at home, what websites they went on, what music they listen to. And most likely the person will ask, how about you?
To get a girl, it really depends on what kind of girl you want, cuz if she's like a hoe then you can ask about parties and stuff, and if she's smart, you could bring up intelligent topics like, I was reading the newspaper today and it said so and so, what do u think about it.
