Okay, This isn't a major problem, just something I want to ask and share with the people of Sex and Affection. A little bit of background information on myself, i'm 16 in a few days time, I'm a relatively good kid, i'm getting decent grades and hanging around the 'right' people and what not.

Well, my parents, they can be pretty decent people at times, obviously we have disagreements, nothing major, just differences of opinions. I have recently introduced my girlfriend to them and they are really okay with her.

But, sometimes mum tells me she's concerned about me, simply because I do stupid things. Me and my mate do some pretty immature shit, like run around the streets with knives and face paint in trench coats for fun, this isnt' only around the streets it's to things like "youth" etc. I go there out of choice because a lot of my mates go there, purely as a social occasion though.

Okay, so I got bored this arvo... So I went through the cupboard and found some arcrylic paint, so I decided i'm going to do my eyes so I look like a panda. Only to see my parents come in and freak out. They went kinda nuts on me... and i'm just wondering WTF, it's only paint, then I get asked all these questions regarding my girlfriend... So yeah, ohh, and my mum thinks my music is contributing to me doing this.... she's nuts.

But yeah, like I sad.... nothing serious, just input I guess... hell.. not even that, feel free to lock if you will. I wont hold anything against anyone.

I guess "</nubile rant?> or something of the type. Anyone else had something like this happen to them? Or given such a broad age communitiy, any adults faced with something like this with their kids?

Yeah, my parents used to think my music made me the devil. But that was mostly my stepmom trying to get my dad to kick me out of the house.

Just ask if you can have a talk with them and say "I know you're worried about me, and I know I do stupid, immature things, but I want to assure you that I'm fine."

Then cut back on the stupid immature things.

Okay, thing is I'm a very mature person which is kind of scary for me to say, but doing these immature things, which I only do probably once every few months for fun. I pretty much use it as a release from my melodramatic hectic life.

You're only painting your face and being silly. It could be so much worse. Make sure you make them aware of how bad things could be, and be as graphic as possible. Then they will be thankful you're just painting your face and running around in a trench coat.

Get a little baggy, fill it with baking soda, get a mirror and a razor blade. Leave them on the bathroom sink.

Let your mum find it. When she flips and goes totally insane, point out that it's baking soda.

Give her a reality check. All you're doing is painting your face, fuck, kids your age do coke!

Its a mall-goth thang. My eldest always goes out of the house like that! Except he doesn't do it panda style but like someone has stabbed his eyes out with the eye-liner pencil.

My parents are fairly hardcore Christians, and they used campaign against my music/me playing games/me having a girlfriend/ parties etc, they had their idea of what they wanted me to be and were doing their damned best to try and make sure i got there, without all the teenage garbage i managed to pick up on the way.. then i got to old

Well yeah, I do it for fun there is no serious bit about it, we dont go to malls or anything because that would be attention whoring, we do it for the "WTF" reactions.
