This is going to sound strange but....
I am 2 years older than my girlfriend. She is in grade 12. She lives 3 hours away from me. Recently, she has started talking about how she is looking forward to her prom. What I am worried about is that so far she hasn't mention 'we' when she talkes about prom. There is no chance of us breaking up (unless her friend does something, but that's another story) but I am not sure what she is planning for this.
What should I expect? I know that it should be natural that we go with each other, but she might see the distance between us thing as a problem. If I shouldn't already assume that we are going together, should I expect her to ask me to go with her? Or am expected to ask her to go with me to her prom? I am so confused...... does anyone have an idea where she might be going with this?

if she isn't going to take you to the prom, and your her boyfriend, there's a problem.
the relationship isn't going the way you'd like it to if that's the case, or maybe it's a misunderstanding and she assumes you know she is going with you.

Re: This is going to sound strange but....
I got a bit of a cold today. My head feels all blocked up and my nose is stuffy. My throat's cleared up nicely, though. I can now taste food.

That's the problem, she hasn't said whether she is taking me or not.
What if I don't know whether or not I am going with her, but she assumes I do know?

if she calls it "my prom," it's safe to assume she doesn't think you're going, otherwise she'd at least call it "the prom."

ask her about it. it's possible she's just assuming you don't want to go, but in actuallity wants you there.

So far she hasn't made a reference to it as 'her prom'.
Next time she brings it up, I will ask her about it.

One thing you could do is ask her "Hey what you think I should wear to the prom?"
That will indicate that you assume that you are going, and will confirm it.

Laurens advice, and the gadge aboves mes advice are both sound. Just remember to ask, or bring up your point with confidence. None of this "I eh.... want to [pause] come to your prom...."

Re: This is going to sound strange but....
Granted she should be asking you if you want to take her to it, but you should slip it in as if it sounds like an honor for you to take her. Don't say something like, "So I don't have to drive your lame high school friend too do I?"
Make it sound like you are a prince or something. Prom for a girl is a huge deal (Usually anyway) for most girls. Make her feel that special and unique.
Say something to the effect of, "I would be honored if I could take you to prom." Granted you can switch honored with whatever words you so chose to use. But you got the idea.
And remember if she doesn't ask you, it may not be because of you and/or she is trying to blow you off. A lot of people I knew from high schools had promised themselves to other people a long time ago and still went together regaurdless if they had a boy/girl friend.

Re: This is going to sound strange but....
In all honesty, how the hell does someone sustain a relationship in which the distance apart is 3 hours? I mean, holy shit, how often do you actually see her?
As for the prom thing, see everyone elses advice.

They way I look at it is that we both have school, so distance allows us to concentrate on that right now. I get to see her about every two weeks or so, so when we do see each other, it is that much more special.

Re: This is going to sound strange but....
It's only 3 hours. I'd probably visit her every weekend.
I had a girl once, that lived about 4 hours away. She was pretty kick ass, but I let her get away; I guess I didn't want to deal with the fact she had a 7 year old daughter (and she was 24/25).
It's not that far. You'll get into your CD player, scenery, or fact you're getting some ass more than you will the fact you're driving 3 hours.

Ok, sinc eshe has said or anything, this is perfect. If she really likes you, and lets assume she does, she's waiting for you to ask her out. She's thinkink "Oh he's gonna think cause were goin out we're jsut gonna go together." So makje a big romantic deal out of asking her to prom.

How do you ask someone to their own prom? That is what I am wondering.
