i'm crying like a girl
so my girlfriend today finally couldn't hold it any longer to herself and she cried for like hours on my shoulder telling me how she feels like her faith is weakening and how in the long run we won't make it because she's lived 19 years of her life as a devout christian and all of that.
Basically she's torn between me and what's she's been taught all her life. I fucking love her to death and I know she does too but I don't know what to do. She's so torn...I told her if we break up I'm never seeing her ever again and she couldn't take it. To be honest, the thought of letting her go makes me cry to because I just love her. She's so perfect for me except for the fact that she's christian.
What should we do? Should we break up? or play it till it lasts? (we already been togheter for 6 months)
I'm so stressed out!

Quite a valid point.
Black _squirrel, I've been in your situation before..I really thought I was in love. And as quickly as it came to be, it ended in a snap. I was broken for aboot a month, slowly getting better. Now, aboot 3 months later I can't even remember the two timing whore.
Until I railed her in parents bedroom on the last day of summer =D

Never choose love over religion?!?! Are you nuts?
OP: Why is her religion interfering with your relationship anyways?

Its inherent in Christianity to not marry anyone who isnt of like faith.

It says nowhere that you can't marry out of your faith...I'm sorry, show me a Catholic text or Bible passage that says this and I'll believe you...if it's your CHOOSING not to marry out of your religion, do NOT pin it on the religion!

There's that bit about not hanging out with 'the yoke of unbelievers' or some such shit.
Go ask in the religion forum.

Damn right. Don't let something so trivial get in your way. Love, as they say, conquers all.

Depends, who one love's more, your wife or God...I'm sure everyone is loved equally but God above all in heaven, but to get there ya kiiiiinda have to acknowledge God over other people while you're here on earth Maybe this is a good reason to not get involved with people of no/other faith...because shit like this happens

try and work out what the things are that are grinding away at your relationship and stopping you two be happy, surerly you can find a compromise that leaves you both happy if you both love each other that much?

Re: i'm crying like a girl
Christianity doesn't preclude marrying out of the faith. Lots of Christians marry out of the faith.
Seriously, talk with her and tell her that there are far worse things than having different religions. Neither of you have to change religions, just have a healthy respect for the other's beliefs.
I don't see what the real problem is; could you explain more clearly what her problem with religion and your relationship is?

Re: i'm crying like a girl
You'd chose some fucking religion over love?!
What the fuck!??!
And what sort of fucking religion is worth sticking with if it's going to make such a big deal about love?
Love is rare and special. Do NOT let some goddamn bible thumpers fuck your shit up.
And why now of all times? Why is she suddenly crying about it now?
If she adhered to her religion that much, shouldnt she have not met you nor gone out with you in the first place?

I could never date any girl who believes in any god, or who is unwilly to throw their god in the dumpster where he belongs.
God is for those who cant grasp reality, and need an invisble friend to help them.

Well for the first part, are not going to see her ever again if you break up because of location difficulties or something close to that, or because you two arent togethor anymore?
and secondly, if you two have to break up, then it shall be, you cant stop it. She needs to make the choice wether she likes it or not.

FIXED.
Religion these days is a fucking joke.
When it comes to love, we shouldn't let some omniscient(sp?), control what we do in life and make us choose what makes us happy, you both have the choice for bliss or, destruction, not God.

Re: i'm crying like a girl
Here's here's the result of tonight's talk with her:
We basically said that we still love each other greatly and we're going to stick it out and try to be respectful about each other's beliefs and try to genuinely learn and consider each other's faith.
Works for me..I'm not quite ready to let her go. I love her like crazy. Hopefully she'll come to her senses.

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't this metaphotically be translated to something like, "Dont become dettached from your religion because of 'significant other'"... That sounds like it to me, says nothing agains being with a person of a different religion, just don't be unbalanced I guess.
But, Love should come before literally everything, regardless. And if she's placing 'God' before you...... that must really hurt.
