christian girl w/ christian friends.
I'm gonna try to describe this as shortly as possible.
I've been with this christian girl for about 6 months now. We love each other very much. Problem though is that I'm not christian and therefor she can't tell her family about me otherwise they'll totally interrupt.
Last year everything was fine but this year she's living with her hardcore christian friends and naturally they're who she hangs out with most of the time (guys most of them). My girlfriend's older sister is at the same school as a grad student and she's part of this crazy christian circle which makes it complicated because now her friends can't know about me because they'll probably talk to her sister about it and her family will find out and you can see how things get bad from there.
Anyway, as I said, she's always hanging out with these christian boys and it bothers me when I go there to hang out with them because none of them know I'm her boyfriend and I don't like the idea that her friends think that she's single because you can see what's wrong with that.
What should I do?

Here's a story for you.
A guy I know has a mate. His dad's family was a big IRA family. His mum's family was a big UVF family.
They said fuck you to the family, cut all ties and went their own way. And they succeeded.

Re: christian girl w/ christian friends.
Her parents, ok, that might be an issue, but do you really think her sister will rat her out just for dating a guy that isnt christian? Are they that hardcore? (Im asking, they just might be)
But if the sister isnt going to say anything to the parents, then who gives a shit. Shout it from the fucking rooftops.
Basically, this issue comes down to whether or not her sister will give a shit and rat you out.
Id also say, maybe try to get to know her parents a bit more. If they like you, they may be willing to forgive the fact that you're not christian. Just try to avoid religious debate at the dinner table. Stick to football and movies.

O, and by the way, teenagers who "have their own religion" are a dime a dozen. It wont hurt you or your made up "religion" to play along with her parents silly religious convictions for the sake of your relationship.
Otherwise, you clearly don't care very much about her and you might as well leave her now.
Cheers,
Lost

Re: christian girl w/ christian friends.
the guys will rat you out in a heartbeat if they findout, because they only hang out with her because they want to fuck her. thats the only reason guys hang out with girls, in case shit happens. I know its true for me, I know a lot of school acquaintances who are female that have great personalities and are genuinely nice people, but not so attractive....at all. I don't hang out with them or goto their parties because I don't even remotely want to hook up with them.....
The sister might not sell you out right away, she'll save that for a moment around the dinner table when she's under scrutiny or fucks up, and wants to take the pressure off her. or just to be a bitch.
actually you can't trust any of her friends/family if they're all super-jesus freaks. It's a pretty big deal to them.
From the context I assume you are both in college. You're both adults. You can do what you want. I had a similar situation dating a MORMON girl. she didnt want to tell her family we were dating because they didnt approve of her dating non mormons....eventually they found out....they got to know me and thought I was a good guy and didnt mind if I ended up with their daughter....
Just proceed with things as they are, but next time you're around her guy friends let it be known that you two are together...let her know first though...dont surprise her. those douchebags will probably grab their bibles and immediately go to some family member to try to rat you out, once they know you don't love jesus with all your heart. Just ride it out. Her parents cant MAKE her break up with you....they can probably make a convincing argument though.
If the parents do confront you about your lack of regular church attendence, just say that you believe in God (don't specify which one) and worship in your own way. You believe that you don't need a middleman to speak with the almighty. If you stand up straight, look them in the eye and say it with conviction, they should at least respect that. They'll still try to convert you, and if you do stay with her, try to get you into church occasionally ( I never once went to mormon temple despite constant nagging).
wow....nuf said. If you can't man up, you probably don't deserve her.

Uh, you think he's going to memerize a few good quotes and have a chance against people who probably have the majority of the bible memorized? no....
They'd figure him out for a fraud within a 20 minute conversation. His best bet is to either downplay the whole christian thing, or just be upfront about his beliefs when questioned and deal with them. I would say try to deal with them logically, but they sound like christian fundamentalist fanatics....so, no rational reasoning will work....because everything rational to you, but not to them/and vice versa will be explained away by gods divine plan or some ridiculous crock of shit.
I hate religious extremists...a lot.

Re: christian girl w/ christian friends.
Being one of the nuts who has a decent amount of the bible memorized, you really shouldn't worry if they atleast follow the word over the pastor/priest/minister.
The Bible teaches MERCY to everyone, not just Christians. If they start trying to convert you or judge you based on your beliefs, point out to them 'Remove the beam from thine own eye before trying to remove the splinter from anothers' Judging when that is set aside to God is a sin. Finding God through the way, whether you call it Christ, the Prophet, the Buddha, the Tao, whatever...is not a sin, but the very goal that the Bible is meant to help people achieve.
In other words: Fuck what these people think about you and your girl - have a serious heart to heart. If her family can't handle that JC embodied the Way, and is not literally the only Way, that's too bad for them.

Re: christian girl w/ christian friends.
Have her parents told you outright that if you're not christian, they don't want you around her? I'm christian and have no problem with that, and other things like sex before marriage, drugs/alcohol... Just because they're christian doesn't mean that they're going to react as hardcore as you or her might think.
Talk to them first about it, chances are you being direct to them about how you feel and what you want will be enough to earn their respect. If they do tell you to fuck off, then start thinking about alternate plans. but until then, the direct approach is always best. You know, us christian folk aren't quite as bad as y'all make us out to be...

I've sadly found that the "serious Christians" are the ones more likely to give you shit and wreck up your life than the wishy-washy ones.
OP, get the fuck out of there. It'll hurt now but it'll hurt alot more when her God and his subjects cockblock you out of a happy life together.

Fundies generally follow the Bible more closesly than their more liberal counterparts. Like "Christian Lite" believers, they also pick and choose which parts of the book they follow closely, it just so happens they pick the parts that screw other people over. Nither group seems to "understand" the Bible because they believe it's true, and seemingly lack the ability to understand that it's just a book of stories.
Over time, Christian Lites may become fundies, depending on their surroundings. There is always a risk of that happening in interfaith relationships. From the sounds of it, the object of the OP's affections is surrounded by a fundimentalist support structure, meaning that there are lots of assholes ready and willing to use their religion to get her to leave you. Tread carefully, if you must continue OP.

No Christian follows the Bible. They all pick and choose what their ego deems relevant...even atheists do the same with it when they attempt to crush another's faith. If their ego died, they'd actually have respect both for themselves AND those who don't choose Christianity as their path. As would others have respect for the Christians as well.

she is being so wierd. she can't make up her mind. I feel like I should just end it but i still love her and i'm still hopeful that she'll forget about all the bullshit.
talk about discrimination!! jeez..I told her that if we're oging to break up, i never want to see her face ever again around me or any of my friends and she took that hard. She still hopes to be around me...can't bear to separate completely but i'm not gonna take that shit. It's either this way or that way, no "friends" bullshit.
anyway, she gave me her little diary to read earlier (it's full of her ranting about how she's torn and how she loves me). I told her i don't want to read it if it's not decisive and she begged me to read it and said she'll come tonight and we'll decide once and for all. I'll let you guys know what happened.

I dont' see why the hell this should even be an issue. You can have your beliefs and she can have yours. Her family rejecting you for being muslim because they are christian is about as valid as them rejecting you for liking blues over jazz, or something equally ridiculous.

What is your religion? I am a Christian, but my girlfriend isn't. She knows I am, it doesn't bother her in any way. I am in no way religious though..... actually I hate religion. Too many rules and stuff. But with her, we haven't really gotten into the religious talk yet..... Do you and her talk about it often, if at all? What is wrong with Christianity that you see?

There's very little in the Christian belief system beneath the surface that's actually respectable. We're lucky they don't follow their holy book to a T. Disrespecting such obvious nonsense has nothing to do with ego, and everything to do with maintaining one's principals.
