Default Love vs obsession

Is there a difference between the two?

I came to the conclusion that love is just obsession with returns (ie the other person is obsess about you as well).

Obsession is when the person don't share the same feeling as you.

Do you agree?

Obsession fucking sucks.

There is a difference.

When you want someone so bad, but you cant have them, It keeps you awake all night, it takes over your mind.

In short, Obsession = bad.

i prefer the term infatuated over obsessed but there is something wrong with it, ive been infatuated with someone before, and whilst that was going on i could think of nothing wrong with that girl, 2 weeks later after the infatuation wore off, i had found so many flaws i wasnt really interested anymore

Obsession is when you NEED them to feel alright.

Love is when you feel alright by yourself, met them, and felt even better.

So the person you love, is totally dispensable?

That seems about right. You can continue with life when you're in love, you miss the other person and think about them alot but aren't completely depressed and emo without them.

No. There's a difference between using someone as a comfort blanket (treating them like a possession), and wanting the same blessings for them as for you (treating them like an individual).

It is possible for a person to be obsessed over someone and still treat them as an individual.

The difference is when the person doesn't want you, your whole goal would be to be with her. So it seems like you just want to be in possess of the person.

But if the person wants you, 'just being with him/her' is no longer the goal. And you can focus on other aspects.

I think you're mistaking infatuation with obsession. Infatuation is a possible precursor to love or obsession (attraction to body and personality) - obsession is the treating of a person, place, thing, or idea as your center. Alcoholics and drug addicts are obsessed, those with eating disorders are obsessed, people with irrational fears are obsessed. Obsession and love are mutually exclusive - one is complete disrespect for the freedom and/or power of something, whereas the other is complete respect for the freedom and/or power of something.

What's known as Love is simply solidification of said love; you see it returned as you give it, and there is reporte to base stronger emotions around (otherwise known as trust), yet there is still no obsession. You don't NEED them...it would hurt for them to no longer be a part of your life, but they are not a necessity because they are not a comfort blanket to keep you away from you.
