romance
so i was in my psychology class in school a couple of fridays ago and we brought up relationships and romance... and i just want to see what people really thought of romance and how important it is to a relationship? and what would you consider romantic?
well i guess i could say that romance is important for ll relationships because it brings that sence of adventure. it keeps the mind guessing and never knowing when or were it will end..
and i what i would consider romantic would be for my bf to just do something for me without me having to ask him... examle, make dinner, clean the house, plan something really nice(and tht could be anything) just understand that i had a hard day at work and just rub my back or wat ever. just small things like that...
know i want to hear what you guys have to say

Re: romance
I think there are different types of romance - the cliché type that involves fancy dinners, expensive wine, and all that jazz... but there's also that type of romance where your special someone does something for you that other people would consider ordinary, only something about why/how they did it makes it special to you, and endearing.
I'm not exactly sure how to explain the second type, perhaps someone who's a little more literate could give a better explination.

i totaly agree with what you mean. you took the words right out of my mouth.... romance doesnt have to be like the movies it just has to be from the heart

Re: romance
Yeah, there are different types of romance, as the previous poster stated above.
I believe in order to have successful relationship you definately need it. It's more than necessary. In other words you would just have an obvious strong lustful emotion for your partner and nothing would come of it. The slight enjoyment of their company and being able to have deep conversations and such is romantic to me. Not just moonlight dinners and jazz music as you make love to them, the bond you have mentally is the beauty, that's where all of the passion is.

you make a very good point.. just communicating and spending time together can be romantic.. showing how much you appreciate the person is another way to be romantic to.

That's good, also, those extra little things that make them feel that bit extra special and happy, like, treating them to things that take that bit more effort to make them feel and know they are special, i Love romance in relationships, i think it's quite important
Romance to me is also like having a quiet time together, enjoying each others company and enjoying what exactly makes each other special and honestly and openly enjoying the relationship

I'm not exactly sure if i'd call it "manufacturing"... It seems to me like some of the most romantic moments i've had were purely spontaneous, not me thinking beforehand "what can i do for her, that she'd find romantic?"
Granted, that works too, but i think it's more enjoyable for both people involved in said moment when it just sort of happens.

So the way you see it, my bipolar makes me a romantic? Because things are always an inch from ending, and my moods mean a girl is ALWAYS left guessing?
People dont usually consider that 'romantic' and consider it more of a curse/burden to deal with. Terrible description of romance.

well im meant it in a different way then you took it.. but what i meant was that romance is supposed to be something you do for the one your with from your heart it is supposed to be meaningful and ture to both of yourselves. thats what i meant by it being an adventure because it should be a different experience for you since your with that important person. it should be shared intrests and shared time together to just enjoy what each other has to offer.
