The age old question
That's it...Age.
How much of an age gap do you feel is acceptable? How old are you and what ages would you feel comfortable with?
I know some of you have been with people with large differences...and there are ones that strictly work around age.
I'm 20 and at this point I only feel comfortable with those 18+ which seems strange to me now cosidering not long ago when I had just turned twenty I felt stongly towards a girl that was 16 1/2.
There are people that think guys are manipulative if they go for a girl that's not as old as them. And there is the common response of the level of maturity in both of the partners.
Any thing else you want to add about age include it in here.

Re: The age old question
There's about a 35 year age-gap between my parents. (Dad being the older) But instead of being liberal in these matters I'm quite obsessed with being with someone who is the same age or at least in the same year at school.
I've always hated it when girls dated guys older then them. Sixteen year olds going out with guys in their twenties, but then I always suspected that had more to do with the fact that maybe I couldn't compete with somebody who had a drivers license etc. And what were those guys thinking? Those girls were in my year. They were my girls!
But age isn't too important to me anymore. I'd just like to meet someone I generally like.

Re: The age old question
I fucking love this formula:
Take your age.
Divide by two.
Add 7.

Re: The age old question
I think age is more important around 13-17 kinda area. Two or three years is a massive difference there. But like 30-45, isn't really a big deal later down the line.

Re: The age old question
The only reason age matters in Middle School/High school is because as teens we are growing so rapidly that there really is a differnce (most of the time) between and 15 and 17 year old. Not sayinng some 15's arnt mature and all 17's are, but there is usually a great difference.
Now once we become adults and are all sort of on the same maturity level, age dosnt really matter unless its like 10 years. Because at that point, its just wierd because most people in thier 20's are at a differnt stage of life than people in there 30's or 40's.

Re: The age old question
I have a girlfriend that is 12 years older than me.
i'm 17 and she is 29. now you might say that she is taking advantage of me. and shes in it for sex.. but really we have been together for 5months. we are best of freinds and hang out alot. i can honestly say i dont feel uncomfortable that she is that much older than me. i feel more than comfortable that she is older than me. it doenst bother me. nor does it bother her.

Re: The age old question
I'm 26 and I can honestly say I would feel uncomfortable dating a guy who was younger than say...23-24. Part of that is that most guys younger than that would probably have MUCH different levels of experience than me. For example, I've been married for the past 8 1/2 years and I have a child, so I've had a lot of responsibility in my life and I've also been in a committed relationship for all of my adult years. Most younger guys probably are just interested in casual dating and don't have the...Depth I would be looking for.
After being with my husband it would be hard for me to just date around anyway. He and I are very close...I mean we spend all of our free time together and he calls me even from work. I don't know that I could go from that level of committment to just a casual relationship. *shrugs*
