Saying "I love you" on accident
Yes, I realize there is a thread similar to this already, so if the mods feel like this is too similar, I won't hold anything against them if they close it.
Anyway, has anyone ever said "I love you" on accident? Like, I try to not say it unless I really mean it. For example though: the other day I was hanging out with my girlfriend of 2 weeks, and I told her I loved her. It was kind of spontaneous, and I was a little fucked up at the time, but as soon as I said it, we both looked at each other like I never should have said it.
Anyone ever say something like that on accident? Did it affect the rest of the relationship, as in, when you said "I love you" and meant it, did the other person understand that?
Sorry for any incoherency.

Re: Saying "I love you" on accident
If I said it "on accident" I'd start really ineloquently backpeadling, like "fuck! I mean, you're really cool, not I love you...that's not to say I won't love you, or that you're not loveable, I just wanted to say something nice, but I only like you, I mean...BUTT SECKS!?"
and they lived happily ever after.

Re: Saying "I love you" on accident
I made a thread like this once, only it was like this weird habit I have of getting the urge to say it when I'm on the phone with somebody.
I have to stop myself from saying "love you, bye" all the time. It's weird. It's to anybody, too. But yeah, I know what you mean.

Re: Saying "I love you" on accident
I always have to fight the urge when I'm drunk, because I make it a point not to say it. And she says it all the time. But when I'm drunk, I'm always bursting with happiness, and I love everything.
But in actuallity, nothing you say when you're fucked up should be held against you.

Just start saying it to everyone, on purpose. It catches people offguard...

Re: Saying "I love you" on accident
After the rave I went to last night me and a few other people went to ihop to get a bite to eat. So we walk in with glowsticks, silly brightly colored hats, and all the other raver goodies. One of the guys was completely rolling face and told the waitress(who was like 50) that he loved her.
Not really the same thing but we all thought it was funny as hell.

oohhh my god that is so me haha.
My ex and I used to talk on the phone every night (year 4 months) And it'd end with "gnight I love you"
I've said it to telemarketers, help lines I've called for various things, old friends by accident. uhg haha
Slowly growing out of the habit.

Re: Saying "I love you" on accident
My boyfriend has done it before.
We've been dating for a year, but the first time he said it, it was really soon in the relationship. I think maybe only a month or two.
He likes to be kissed on the neck, so I was doing it one day, but I was going a little too hard (and we'd had a problem with hickies). So he was telling me to be a little more careful. "I mean, I love you and everything, but I don't like it when people make fun of me for having marks."
I was just kind of like...YOU WHAT NOW?!
Except I didn't actually say anything, because I figured it had slipped out by accident. I just acted like it didn't happen.
I think he said it again once more after that, but it was so long ago I don't remember.
I DO remember we spent New Year's Eve at his friend's house and I was having a really shitty (and awkward) time because his friends are...interesting characters. The next day I got a message online that simply said, "I love you."
I knew it wasn't an accident that time.

Re: Saying "I love you" on accident
Ugh... half a bottle of wine into a visit 2 weeks into our relationship, we were having a nice makeout session... then i said i love you, which was bad because i didnt feel that i actualy did :/, but we sort of just ignored that incident because she already knew that i have a habit of saying really stupid stuff when im under the influence.

I was leaving a message in response to a job interview request last week...and I almost said it. I stopped myself in time though...
I got the job, I start today.

To loosely paraphrase Lucky Louie:
When we got married, I thought, 'SHIT! I could have left her.'
Then we had our kid, and I thought, 'SHIT! I STILL could have left her!'
Fat guy says:
You can still leave her; the third wife's the charm. You've already had your kids and all the shit you want...now it's just love and sex.
