Default Irony

So Im grounded and my parents think I havent learned anything so I shouldnt get ungrounded yet. Keep in mind I have been ground for 1 month and 1.5 weeks. And so everytime I try to show them I am serious and that I have learned and such they disregard it as if I am lieing, yet they then always claim Im never serious about it. I dont get it every time I try they just blow it off and they give me a bunch of bullshit.

Well, you sound like you're 12, and you havent given any evidence whatsoever. So I'm gonna go and side with your parents on this one.

Heres a little advice, it takes more then just an apology to show you've learned. You have to change your behavior and act accordingly. The next time you spill a cup of juice, just own up to it. Lying only makes it worse.

EDIT: This doesnt really belong in S+A, and it has nothing to do with irony. You fail.

You need to provide an idea of what you've done in order to get any advice.

I was planning on throwing a small party. And I have changed my behavior its simple apology, but when I try to show them Ive clearly change they think Im just bullshitting them and I dont get it, do I have to act like fucking Jesus to show the slightest change. Yea, I also didnt know what to title it so I just titled it irony

Ooo, my mother used to do the same thing growing up. I feel like you're telling my story

She still does it even now that I'm older, but it's more vicious.

Unfortunately you probably will have to act like a fucking saint. Do [i]every. little. thing they ask of you, obey every command. It's harsh but after a while they'll let up.

You could try sitting and having a serious talk, it used to work with my mother but most of the time it was a mind-game and I knew the second she turned her back I'd be at it again...

Other than that I can't think of much else, except there really is no quick-fix to earn back trust. You're going to have to work towards proving yourself and grow up some.

Yea, Ive tried the serious talk a few times, yet it just ends up with my step dad yelling and cursing at me or my mom mocking/laughing at what I say.

If you're over 15 then you need to go through the whole teenage aggression phase...

If you're under 15 or your voice hasn't broken yet just sit it out because they won't take you seriously.

What sort of spineless coward lets himself get told what to do by his parents? You let your parents ground you for 1 and a bit months? What are you, a man or a private school kid?

why the fuck are you letting your stepdad swear at you?

tell them your not a bitch and that you're not listening to thier stupid condescending crap untill they stop treating you like one. dont waste your breath talking about responsibility and respect, you will probably just look like a stupid kid using big words to them and it wont help. then walk out and go to a friends house or do something to prove yourself but dont show them, let them find out. skip school for a day and get a job or something.

Oh, yea, I have a job. But for the step dad thing if you didnt see my other thread about him he tries his tough guy bullshit and then I challenge him on it because he usually threatens to hurt me and then my mom basically agrees with him and yea, it sucks.

P.S. Im 15
