Do you tell your partner?
Well, i'm sure at least some of you have had this happen...
When you and your partner are seperated for any length of time, say.....your girlfriend went to the other side of the country for 2 weeks to run, and during the course of this time, you get hit on....nothing huge, but the occasional pass.
Do you tell your significant other about these things? Or do you feel that because you didnt do anything wrong (and because you love your significant other, you made it obvious to the poor person that you're taken) they dont really need to know about other people hitting on their gf/bf.
My girlfriend (1 1/2 years, if that makes any difference), has in fact gone away for 2 weeks, and i have in-fact been hit on during that time. I havent mentioned it so far because....well....i don't think she'd be very pleased.
Opinions?

Well shit...if she can't handle you being hit on, maybe the relationship's not solid enough to be worth engaging in?

Re: Do you tell your partner?
No. Theres nothing wrong with getting hit on, and personally, I wouldnt want to know about every single person who hits on my significant other(if I had one), It would just make me jealous.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
I've never actually thought about it to be honest. I just tell my boyfriend when I get hit on, mostly because I'm so excited that someone hit on me.
A little bit of jealousy won't hurt him, just remind him that his girlfriend is a very wanted woman *Snort*
Come to think of it, I sure as hell don't think I'd appreciate hearing about girls hitting on him though. Hmmm...

Re: Do you tell your partner?
As long as you make it clear that you're not interested you're fine.
Flirting is mostly innocent, there's no need to divulge every occasion. I'm sure she gets hit on too.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
I never said the relationship wasnt solid. We have more than enough trust with each other, its just she doesnt want to know about it every single time it happens.
And i'm sure she does get hit on, and i trust her that she wont betray that trust.
EDIT:: Kim (i think is the only chick to have replied) seems to be on the same page as me.
I love hearing about other guys hitting on her, and knowing she chooses me above them.
What is it about girls hitting on him that makes you uncomfortable?

Re: Do you tell your partner?
<Female.
I don't like my men getting hit on.
Well, the last one anyways, but I didn't trust him haha.
Otherwise I guess it's ok.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
The only thing that it could cause is conflict. What's the point? It means nothing to you. Don't make a deal out of nothing.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
Oh, well, my apologies.
Is it the whole 'men are less trustworthy' thing? or are chicks just naturally more protective?
Like, at a party, if a guy's g/f is getting hit on, and its nothing serious, chances are the guy will let her sort it out.
If a girls b/f is getting hit on, chances are the chick will get right in there and slap her. (Slight overexageration, but you get the drift)

Re: Do you tell your partner?
My ex-girlfriend used to get hit on CONSTANTLY... Even in front of me. Also, I would get hit on pretty frequently as well (although nowhere near as much as her, as she's female).
So obviously, if we were to tell each other about each and every time, it would get pretty tedious.
Only the really serious ones we shared, like when she had some guy follow her for like 20 minutes after work. Or when this guy called her and it sounded like he was masturbating. Or when this girl kissed me at a party (actually we made out for like a few seconds because I was really, really drunk, but then I realized what was going on and stopped).
I guess that's different though.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
When I get hit on I casually mention it to my boyfriend, and he does likewise. I'm glad he can tell me when girls hit on him, because it makes me feel like I can trust him. If I found out girls were hitting on him and he was hiding it from me I would be upset.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
I get told about it. It bugs me a little bit, but it's outweighed by the fact she's honest enough to tell me (a huge plus in my book) and she always reacts really well. So it's all good.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
I have something to add to this....
What should you do if one of your girl's good friends (who is a guy) hits on her very subtly while you are around? Does this mean he hits on her even more when you are not around?
And I am not talking about REALLY hitting on her, just mild flirting.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
Why would you tell someone that? It just seems like you're asking for jealousy. If you were not interested, it shouldn't matter.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
i mainly don't like it when i hear about them hitting on him and he doesn't tell them he has a girlfriend. it's kind of a huge piss-off, because no matter how much he says he "politely shuts them down," i know that if i did the same thing he would say i should flat-out tell them to fuck off. it's an annoying double standard.
i tell him when people hit on me because it's like...creepy old men, or someone that i don't like and am uncomfortable around. i'm completely uncomfortable with being hit on while in a relationship because i'm always accused of being a huge flirt and i just don't even know what to do with myself.

Re: Do you tell your partner?
Meh, I see it hardly as an issue. If you're with any one half decently good looking, who puts them self in social situations, they'll get hit on 5+ times a day. Who gives a fuck? Take sollace in the fact that your partner is desired, yet she chooses to be with you.
Become tolerant of shit like that. If the girl I'm with is hot, I'll tell her to flirt with bartstaff to get me...*cough* I mean us, free drinks. That takes a bit more stomach to handle, but once you can, fucking SCORE!

Re: Do you tell your partner?
I dont ever get 'hit on', that's because I dont subject myself to be 'hit on', but if I were to, I would definately tell the girl that was doing so that I have a girlfriend etc, I would also tell my girlfriend. Because I'd want her to tell me etc, without the trust and security of telling eachother stuff, you've got nothing.
