Put down the knife and go to a bar or drink with friends. Get some excercise, do productive things to improve yourself. Read, draw, listen to music. Keep yourself occupied. Then when you think you're ready, give yourself time to think about it and drain yourself and then get over it. Right now isn't a good time. You're freshly wounded, stop the bleed and then work on healing it.
