Default When is it time to break up?

In your opinion, when is it time to break up with a girl?

Lately I've been considering it, just because it seems like my girlfriend is really often just down and in a shitty mood. And while obviously I recognize my responsibility to comfort and support her (which I do) I just find it difficult to be with someone who is always a downer.

Then I look around and see tons of other chicks who I could be with who have a lot more potential than my situation seems to have at the moment.

At the same time I'm not really a quitter and I AM usually happy with my girl. It's just that lately she seems kind of bland.... it's always the same and I know exactly what to expect. Not that what I get is so bad... it's just.... well, it's hard to explain.

So I guess my question is, when do you guys think it's the right time to break up with a girl?

Once you have the thought?

Once you're unhappy more than happy in the relationship?

Once you just can't STAND being in the relationship anymore?

The thing is, I'm not sure if I'm just being lazy and looking outward. I realize that the other girls are probably only more appealing because a) they're new and b) I'm not with them.

What to do?

Discuss. Personal experience, stories, and wisdom is greatly appreciated.

I broke up with my ex for the following reasons:

-She clearly didnt care as much as she claimed to.

-She made me and my family awkward.

-She was fucked in the head.

-She started to annoy me.

-She was making my tourette's worse.

-She was bringing out the worst in me.

-Other assorted things in this strain.

Hope that helps lol

Other reasons to break up are:

-If you dont like her.

-If she is fucking another guy.

-If she is like a hardcore needledrug addict.

-If she turns out to be a lesbian. (lulz!)

Is there a reason why she's been in a bad mood lately? I guess you just have to decide whether or not you care enough about her/your relationship to see this through. But the fact that you're questioning yourself isn't a good sign. But then again, you're right that you may just want other girls because "the grass is greener".

I would talk to her and see what's on her mind. Maybe she's depressed. Maybe she wants to break up with you, but doesn't know how. Just talk to her.

Hahaha...these are the very reasons I like the girl I've been seeing lately. She's bipolar and a total nutcase and I LOVE IT. It probably works because I'm bipolar too. But I have a theory that we're really about as bipolar as Panama...we're just weird, that's all.
