Default Face herpes

I've been wondering this for a while. Coldsores are a type of face herpes right? But can they double as cock herpes? Say if I get a blowjob from a chick with coldsores, will I get cock herpes?

And further more. The virus never goes away but stays dormant in your spinal nerves. Funn.

i always thought they were 2 different...errr, whta's the word. 2 different types/strains of the virus and couldn't be interchangeable. but i could be wrong. it just seems like everyone would have genital herpes if cold sores could cause it.

Yes, in a week or two. Go buy some medication/cream for that, speeds it up nicely.

No you can not get the mouth form of herpes on your dick......

And you are right about there being 2 strains of Herpes. "EVERYONE HAS HEPES TO SOME EXTENT".

Type 1 is in your mouth

Type 2 is in your Vagina or On your dick (or on the Vagina)

Almost every person in this world has type 1 herpes.

To have type 2 herpes you need to have like a 12% infection rate. I had a hepes test and i have about " .5% ". They dont even diagnose you with herpes unless you have like a regular 6%.

The .5% of my is basically my coldsores inside my mouth. Some people get them OUTSIDE their mouth. If you kissed someone with the kind outside their mouth chances are you eventually will get that form of herpes (But we as society call them coldsores).

Type 2 is the kind on your dick. It is the same thing as a canker sore or coldsore on your mouth. But we as society dont like type 2 because it is a nasty sexual diesease.

They are two different kinds of herpes, but they can transfer. It happened to my friend AND my sister when they received oral sex from guys who had mouth sores. The herpes you get from oral sex isn't as bad as the kind you get from regular sex, but damn...It's still HERPES!

If you can't see sores on the outside of her mouth, you MIGHT be okay. Of course, she could always have them on the inside of her mouth, rubbing against your penis and infecting it with all sorts of hideously painful open sores that will come back again and again over your entire lifetime.

Ok, I feel I can actually offer some experience on this for a change. I had sex with a new girl last week, and on saturday I felt like there was something wrong with my fella. Things got a little worse a couple of days later, the red/sore/itchy feeling was replaced by the stinging sensation of sores.

*One of the most painfull things I have EVER felt when touched/attempted to clean*

Anyways my appointment at the doctors was today and I was told I had herpes. The girl I slept with actually gave it to herself, when she had a coldsore she transmitted it to her vagina (2 and half years ago).

The virus stays in your system for years, and occassionally comes back, when your immune system is weak, or by stress or other things, to be honest they dont really know.

Anyways, my advice is, under no situation allow this girl to "give you head" untill them coldsores are gone, trust me if you get herpes on your cock you will feel totally shit about yourself as I do, and thats not just because of the feeling of razor blades sticking into your head.

I can post pics but its not nice.

Cold sores on your face are different from canker sores inside your motuh. It is pretty rare to have herpes inside of your mouth. Canker sores also aren't contagious.

Sores inside her mouth aren't caused by the herpes virus. The one on her lips is. Don't let her touch your eyes or genitals during an outbreak nor kiss her, it's contagious during that period. And I mean really contagious, I got mine at the age of 7 from drinking from the same mug as an infected relative. You can get it outside of outbreaks too however, how likely it is, I don't know. Condoms are not 100% effective

She probably has the HSV-1 type which almost always manifests itself on the lips. It can spread to the genitalia with direct contact. Get rid of her if you're that afraid of infection. Personally I wouldn't worry about that, the virus lies dormant outside of outbreaks and the one on the lips is very easy to detect and immediately starts a sort of tingling feeling when an outbreak is near

The question is: is he worth the risk?

You can get herpes from cold sores, even indirect contact. Say you have a cold sore, and you poke at it... then you masterbate. You can get an outbreak on your genetalia, but because it's the strain that causes oral herpes, you won't get as many outbreaks. If you must, at the very least use a condom, but your best bet is to wait until there are no sores.

Ok ready for this?

A conclusive answer with sources cited!

quote:

The primary difference between the two viral types is in where they typically establish latency in the body- their "site of preference." HSV-1 usually establishes latency in the trigeminal ganglion, a collection of nerve cells near the ear. From there, it tends to recur on the lower lip or face. HSV-2 usually sets up residence in the sacral ganglion at the base of the spine. From there, it recurs in the genital area .

Just to establish some basics on it.

quote:

The difference is that herpes simplex 1 is generally what causes the oral lesions, and the lip lesions, where herpes 2 -- HSV-2 -- is generally the one that causes genital lesions. However, there is a significant overlap between the two, so you can have herpes 2 that infects and causes lesions in your mouth and you can have herpes 1 that causes lesions on sexual organs.

quote:

In the absence of prior oral infection, however, HSV-1 spreads easily to the genital area, usually through oral sex. In some countries, such as Japan and parts of Great Britain, genital HSV-1 is as common as genital HSV- 2, or more common.

quote:

It can definitely spread from mouth to genital area. We see that herpes simplex 1 more likely infects the mouth, and when it does it has more frequent outbreaks than when it infects the genital area, and vice versa for herpes simplex 2, but there is a great overlap and each can infect the sites that they're theoretically not supposed to infect.

There you go, the ugly truth.

However, this is one thing they said that I found interesting.

quote:[b]

Acquisition of one type is more difficult-though certainly possible-if you already have the other type. This is because either type, contracted orally or genitally, causes the body to produce antibodies, some of which are active against both HSV-1 and 2. This acquired immune response gives some limited protection if the body encounters a second type. When a person with a prior HSV infection does contract the second type, the first episode tends to be less severe than when no prior antibodies are present.

On a practical level, this means oral HSV-1 is often the most easily acquired herpes infection. Usually the first herpes simplex virus that people encounter, oral HSV-1, is typically spread simply by the kind of social kiss that a relative gives a child. Because children have no prior infection with any HSV type, they have no immune defense against the virus.

By the time they're teenagers or young adults, about 50% of Americans have HSV-1 antibodies in their blood. By the time they are over age 50, some 80-90% of Americans have HSV-1 antibodies.

By comparison, almost all HSV-2 is encountered after childhood, when people become sexually active. Those who have a prior infection with HSV-1 have an acquired immune response that lowers - though certainly doesn't eliminate-the risk of acquiring HSV-2. According to one study (Mertz, Annals of Internal Medicine,1992), previous oral HSV-1 infection reduces the acquisition of subsequent HSV-2 infection by 40%.
