So this girl and I like each other (you might remember my french thread from awhile back) and we are considering going out, but she says her parents don't allow her to date.

She would have to do it behind her parents' backs, and this would make it to where we couldn't really hang out as often as we would like.

She's 15 (nearly 16) and I'm 16.

How could she go about convincing her parents that she's old enough and mature enough to have a boyfriend?

Any advice would be great.

Tell her parents you like her and are going to date her.

Tell her they can be tankful she's going out with a nice boy like you, or they can move in with the Amish.

That's probably what they are scared of, that the daughter is going to pick up some low-life.

Either that, or do something heroic, like saving your girl from a fire.

Have her lecture them on how her developing process throughout life must have experiance. Experiance in relationships and sharing something with another person is one of them. She thinks she's found somebody nice enough to have that first experiance with and believe it would be proper of them to approve.

Meh, I don't know. I just pulled that out of my ass. Just have her ramble on about something like that. They're obviously over protecive and want her to have a good life, she needs to include this in convincing them.

I think she should invite you to dinner first, so you can meet them. Then have that talk and you should ask her parents if you can take her out. Or something old fashion like that. Meh, I'm sure you'll receive better advice, sorry.

Try and convince them that you're just good friends.

Walk up to the mother and politly say "I'm going to date your daughter, cunt." Works every time...

They don't want her having sex. I've never known someone to not want their daughter to date.

Saying "you can't date" is their way of hoping that their daughter won't become sexually active.

Have her talk to the in a mature manner. You can be there for support, depending on the personalities invovled.

It's not like she hasn't had boyfriends before, she just sneaks with them. I would prefer (for easiness' sake) that they knew and approved.

She says she's tried talk to them before, but I assume she hasn't done it in the right way.

Maybe she could try talking to them, then suggest they meet me if they have doubts.

Maybe she is just saying that because she wants to see other guys too.

Maybe her parents are right and she isn't mature enough to date?

Best thing to do would be to meet them yourself and give a good impression. If that doesn't work, well, that's it really. And the two posts above me are good foil points. And jackketch still looks like a megadeth axeman. (Or did, when he was young)

I think your best bet would be to get her to actually have a mature and decent conversation with her parents, her suggseting that you come over to meet them etc. That way they have a chance to meet and asess you and I guess you can gain approval like that.
