update on girl i need help reading
So, in the other post I talked about this girl who had been helping me out since my girlfriend broke up with me/I broke my foot.
She gets my food for me, carries my books, she got me some towels for my crutches to provide cushioning...she seems mildly interested but I also think she may just be a genuinely nice person.
Today I've been talking to her online for close to 3 hours now...it should be a good sign, but I think I've cemented myself a permanent position in the "friends zone".
We can identify with each other because our relationship problems are pretty much identical. She's really upset and I know what she is going through because I just went through it, and I know she wants things to work out but she knows it won't.
She feels comfortable talking to me about all of this....so am I stuck in the friend zone?
Blah...not to sound like an ass, but I'm a better looking guy than her boyfriend.

Re: update on girl i need help reading
I'm not sure how many people have realized this yet, but ladder theory/friend zones are not applicable to many people.
If it still applies to you, you won't be able to tell when it does/doesn't apply to another person. You just can't accurately percieve what you haven't been through yet.

That's not what I said.
Look, the more you know about how you operate, the better you can understand how other people operate; this is independent of gender. It's apparent that you're not too in tune with yourself, because your description of the situation only touches on your surface and her surface. You two may connect on the surface, which IS typically enough for a relationship to begin developing if it's accompanied by physical attraction and disastifaction with the current relationship she's in.
You might have a chance, but you're really not capable at this point in your life of providing the necessary information for me to tell you with certainty that it's a go.
Just tread carefully when making decisions about this girl and how you approach a relationship; but when you do, follow through or you're going to have regrets.

Do you really want a new 'friend'? How much do you really have to lose by assuming the best.
Nothing will happen if you don't.

Mate, really, your pessimism is unprecedented in your situation. You have every chance with this girl.

Just simply let her know you don't want to bend your friends over a table and fuck them.

Girls do go out with their friends. If she is splitting up with the boyfriend try to ensure she has you in mind. Be a little bit more flirtatious.

Re: update on girl i need help reading
WTF man, does she need to wear a sign that says," I want you to be my boyfriend".
Do you know how most affairs start? They start because one partner sees a problem in the relationship, but instead of communicating it to their partner, they find someone else. This emotional communication is the foundation of a relationship, and her lack of communication with her current partner is why that relationship is failing. However, she has already established this communication with you, and she wants this type of communication with a partner/lover, so she is already starting a relationship with you that is more than friends. All you have to do is be there for her, help her with her problems, make her feel comfortable with you, and you'll become more to her than just friends. As long as you keep deepening this emotional communication, you'll one day find her in your arms, and likely in your bed.
The only extra advice I can give, is to make sure you establish yourself as a person she can discuss your own relationship problems with, or she'll move onto the next guy that establishes the bond and the cycle continues until someone breaks it.
Make your move damn it.

Thanks for the advice...
I'll see how things go tonight, I'm really down after seeing my ex girlfriend with a coke dealer all over facebook (goddamn that newsfeed) but hopefully I'll feel better after a long nap and some painkillers.

Re: update on girl i need help reading
Yeah, the "friend zone" is so much hooey. It's also irrelevant that you're better looking than her bf.
I think it's a good sign she's trying to take care of you and your foot. It might even be that she's using this as an excuse to get to know you and get closer to you in your time of need...

You're a dick, I read that other topic, you deserve sucker punches to the balls. You broke your foot because you have anger management issues, and now you're trying to take away someone elses girlfriend. Get the fuck out, dick!
