Default Meeting girls at high school

So although I'm totally cool with meeting girls who aren't from my high school, let's face it, I might as well get something fun done in the 6 hours a day I spend there.

Basically, because my school's next dance isn't for 2-3 months, there's nothing like that to go meet people at.

Advice? My group of friends tends to spend lunches in a moderately remote part of the school, and I don't know if wandering around by myself helps my odds any, because they aren't moving.

I've tried that angle. It ends with "Ok, see you later"

K, but how do I go from wandering around the place to approaching a girl with her friends and getting to know her?

Yeah, I mean, a bunch of guys who are interested in manly things like the history of warfare, heavy metal and video games are the best thing in the world, but they're not girls. A girl that was interested in those things would be the holy grail. Almost makes me want to be gay.

You could do what I did...not care what group people are in and just talk to everyone...and yes, even the loud black people playing drums. People lose their labels when you can see them as just being human.

I was friends with some of the Azn kids, some of the nigger kids, some of the spic kids, some of the emo-fag kids, some of the goth kids, some of the preps, some of the jocks, some of the losers, some of the posers, some of the nerds, some of the band-geeks...after awhile, they lose their label and become rather decent friends...even those you aren't that close to seem much more human. Social interaction with a variety of people will break a lot of imagined differences that do nothing but limit your self.

the problem is you aren't creating a normal situation. it's gonna be weird..."what are you doing?"

"roaming around looking for girls."

what year are you, by the way?

Get out there and meet people! There ARE girls who portray the image of extreme ditziness in highschool that LOVE warfare, metal, and video games.

Go, young one, and learn the truth.

And did you just tell me to tell them that I'm roaming around looking for girls? It's so cool it might work.

ah, grade 12. good.

i was kidding about the "roaming around for girls" response. a lot of girls are too uptight to find it funny. just be charming and lighthearted, and move on if you're not getting anywhere. or even if you are.

Ok.. but I still don't get how to approach some random girls and say anything but "Hi, I'm Nick". Is that a good idea?

I'm not so much worried about labelling others as their label of me. Half of them have gone to school with me since grade 7, and the other half since grade 10. I'm definitely in the "ultrageek" label. Just go chill with people? Nice idea.

That's the label I'm pretty sure everyone's placed on me by now. I don't like to think of it that way.

well then spin it in a positive way. do people at your school have a good attitude towards geeks? some schools do, some don't.

Yeah, I'm just one of the smart kids. I've learned to act normally. I just have a thirst for knowledge and am good at math and stuff. My friends are the same.
