yesterday i was walking with my friend dominique, and i saw this guy nick i had a flirtation with last year and hadn't seen since. i continued talking to dominique and acted like i hadn't seen him. (nick's mature by the way, unlike how i was acting -- he's 22). dominique said hello to him while i continued talking about something or other and trying to sound cool.

afterwards, she was like, "dude, why didn't you say hi to nick?" and i told her it's cause i'm dumb and insecure. she then told me that there was no way i couldn't have seen him , since he was right there, so he must have realized something.

anyway, i felt massively stupid, so i did something even stupider. i sent him a facebook message that said, "hi! i saw you today but didn't say hello cause i'm dumb! how's it going?"

i realize now that i should have just waited till i saw him again. i am sooo dumb.

excuse the bimbo-sounding-ness of this post. i am just seeping with boy-crazy hormones right now or something.

And the point to this thread is?







First thing, just relax. If I were him, I wouldn't really make a big deal out of it. Actually, I probably wouldn't have thought anything about it. If he's as mature as you say he is, he shouldn't really care.

I have a friend who does that kind of stuff, so dont worry your not the only one. Yes it was a stupid thing to do, and yes it does happen to everyone. Dont feel stupid about it, just go up to him next time and have a nice normal or flirtaous conversation with him, and he'll probaly forget about the little incident.

Chances are he won't think much about you "being dumb." People don't pay nearly as much attention to our actions as we think they do. If you see him again, just say hi to him and talk to him like normal, and he'll probably forget it ever happened.

i know it was a dumb thread on a dumb topic about dumb actions. I KNOWW!!! however, i entertain almost all the dumb threads (and good ones) in this forum. therefore, i am allowed a dumb thread once in a while. and i believe that anything that offers insight into one's perspectives on relationships and gives the opportunity for others to comment is useful in showing people what others are thinking.

there is no information in this thread about nick whatsoever, so i don't see any basis for judging him.

You're right; calling oneself dumb too often is an annoying habit that I am guilty of. I hope he thinks it's cute, but I doubt he will. I mostly wrote the message to try to make up for silliness of not saying hello. My friend told me afterwards that he looked confused and a little hurt.

I'll pretty much say what has been said; First and for most, you're not dumb and I believe you know this. I can understand getting nervous in front of this guy because you do like him, I've done it before, too. Then you go and think that something he paid no attention to(most likely) made you look stupid as hell and you feel the need to show yourself. He'll probably laugh at you, or just find it awkward.

Whatever the case may turn out, we're all humans. We all make mistakes, and we all have our moments. If he's truly mature he'll put this behind you two and carry on the the latest news with you.

You really shouldn't stress over it. People do shit like this all of the time, it's commnon. Just don't make it a habbit. Anybody respectable doesn't think it's cute.
