I think that you should try to use your shyness to your advantage, instead of trying to change yourself or act like something you're not. As long as you're not shy to the point of being awkward, then things shouldn't be too difficult. just keep them wanting to find out more about you, let them in a little bit by forcing yourself to open up slightly, and then let your own shyness take over. There are quite a few chicks who like guys that are a little shy, so just play with it a little and figure out how to make it work for you.
