A year and three months older
So, I found out today that I'm one year and three months older than this girl. I'm in grade 12, shes in grade 11. I felt kind of wierd after I found out just how much older I was than her, I figured it was a good 6-12 months, but 15 months is a lot when you're 16/17.. she's 15 now.
Thoughts? I like her, but its been bothering me.

Re: A year and three months older
This really shouldn't bother you. I know many people in relationships as such. Nothing will be said about it most likely unless it's personally bothering you.
If you like her and think you two have something then you should stay together. Let people say what they want to say but nothing has even happened yet. Don't break up with her unless the authority becomes involved, in which case I doubt they will and if they did you'd be able to save yourself.
It will work out and nothing bad can happen to you unless you yourself aren't comfortable with the situation and don't want to risk anything for her. I'm sure you'll know what to do when the time comes.
Good luck

15 months is NOTHING, even at that age. Just forget about it.

Wow, you either have commendable scruples or deplorable prudism flowing through your veins.
1.5 years and 1 grade apart is nothing. Really its the year-grade that matters in highschool hanky panky. Not that it really matters at all.
Um...continue as prior.

At that age it seems like alot, but emotional and intellectual maturity have little to do with age.

Re: A year and three months older
I have a friend who graduated the year before I did, when he was a senior he dated a freshman girl who was 2 years, 10 months younger and no one thought anything of it. Don't worry about it.

My first boyfriend was 3 years older than (we were 16 and 19). It's not a big deal at all. Maybe something else is bugging you, but you're using age as an excuse to not date her?

Re: A year and three months older
Dude your a pansy thats nothing. I mean if your in highschool id say ANY grade is good to go. When you get outa highschool it starts getting a little weird but 2 years younger no problem. My girlfriends 16 and im 18, im 2 years and 1 month older then her. No one has had any problem with it. I mean ive gone a little low at times dating a couple freshmen my senior year(No i didnt fuck any of them), i mean shit i knew guys that were 20-21 wanting to hook up with sophmores and up. When your in highschool as long as you date freshman and above i see no problem and if your outta highschool then id say lowest you should go is 2-3years(if the person younger is in highschool otherwise who cares).

No, I meant that something else was bugging you about her. But I guess it doesn't matter any more. I'm glad you're feeling better.

Re: A year and three months older
Theres a reason that relationships with huge age differences dont work out. It's usually a compatability issue. In your case though, you're still pretty young, and the age difference isnt that extreme. I'd say go for it. It may or may not work out, and if it doesnt...then A)You're too young to get tied down in a serious long term relationship, and B)You'll learn something from it.

Re: A year and three months older
At that age, it's a good experience.
Hopefully she's not like my Ex. I now only will date/consider older girls. The one girl I'm going after now, turns 20 in November and I'm 18. Everyone says girls are SO much more mature then guys at these ages but I don't believe that's true. It's really the individual.
At first it was tough finding of age girls... now since I've been single for a while I find them all over. Going to the club and grinding is the #1 spot though.

Re: A year and three months older
Wow, that is nothing. A couple seniors in my highschool dated freshman, that was a little off, but not enough to cause that much a scene. Seriously, I'm going on a date with a 29 year old this weekend (I'm 21), as long as it's legal and you look like you are about the same age I don't see a problem...

Re: A year and three months older
Go with the (your age)/2+7 theory.
17/2+7=15.5 so 15 is fine.
And you didn't even say you're 17, you said 16/17.
Tap it and enjoy, provided it's relatively legal.

Maybe at a young age thats true but not really for older people. My mom and step dad are 10 years apart and no real problems been together over 10 years now. My girlfriends mom and dad are obviously over 10 years apart(dad looks about 45-55 mom looks about 35-45

Re: A year and three months older
When you are 17 many many incredibly good looking 15 year olds will kiss you.
When you are 20 many many incredibly good looking 17 year olds will sleep with you.
It is a window of opportuity that won't reopen till your 30s.
DO IT.

Re: A year and three months older
Don't worry about it. The youngest you can date is 1/2 your age + 7years, and so she's deffinitely within range. no worries, man.

I thought the youngets was 1/2 your age -7 years.
So If I'm 33 that would be 9 1/2. Which is cool right?
