parent overprotective
This isnt so much about sex as it is affection. My mother is extremely overprotective, are there any tips or ideas from you guys that could maybe get her to lay off a little?

Re: parent overprotective
How old are you? Personally, my mom's never around so it's not a problem.

Re: parent overprotective
Do what I did. Work your ass off in high school, and go to college a year early. I'm a month into Cornell and loving it. The fact that I'm a year younger than everybody else doesn't affect me at all.

Re: parent overprotective
How's she overprotective? are you a guy or a girl? I only ask 'cause it'll be alot harder to convince a overprotective parent to be less protective of a girl.

Re: parent overprotective
Actually, I found that it's hard to convince an overprotective parent not to be overprotective, period. You have to get out of there in a constructive fashion.

Re: parent overprotective
You have to fight it case by case. For example say they want you home by ten. Well one day call and say you cant make it till 10 15. Next time you go out push it to 10 30. You will probably have to disobey them a few times but it is better to do in small doses rather then large ones. IE be home 20 minutes late not 4 hours.

Re: parent overprotective
What exactly are you trying to push at?
Like, I know your saying that your mum is over protective, but what are you trying to do? Are you trying to spend more time with friends? Are you trying to have a relationship? A little more background information will be great.
You see my girlfriends parents are quite over protective, which is a bit of a pain. But I find working within their boundries and just being myself with them is a lot easier to push something. The more and more they are comfortable with me dating their daughter the more lenient they will be, hopefully.
Edit: A little more information will prove to be quite useful
