My girlfriends mom is a crazy bitch. She is always yelling at my girlfriend, I can hear her mom yelling when im on the phone, she is scary sounding. My girlfriend is so nice though, she always buys me and other people all sorts of shit and rarely thinks of herself. my girlfriend calls me crying about her mom yelling. She doesnt derserve this kind of treatment. Its bullshit, right now shes screaming about a flashlight, were both 18,I have a car. What should I do?

Flee the country.

Sounds like a tough situation, ask your girlfriend what she thinks, too.

She sort of wants to leave, but then she doesnt. It really makes me sad how she has to put up with her mom like this. Even her dad is getting sick of her mom. I mean, she was screaming about a flashlight. She sounded like a 6 year old having a tauntrum. It was scary, and now my girlfriend cant hang out with me today because her mom couldnt find a flashlight or some shit. I really want to get her out of that house. But neither of us have graduated from high school or have a job. Only one of us can drive and has a car.

I'm kind of in the same situation as you are. My girlfriends mom is CRAZY, but I don't think she's as violent. We're both 18 too, so I'd appreciate any advice in this thread too.

my mom's the same way, and i know how your girlfriend feels about the wanting to leave/not wanting to leave issue.

it's hard because everyone outside of the situation sees it as "wtf, why can't you just leave, she's just a crazy bitch." but you have to realize that she's not crazy ALL THE TIME. sometimes she will act like a normal mom, and probably she's pretty good at guilt tripping too, so your girlfriend might feel like she's making a bigger deal out of it than she needs to and shouldn't leave.

there's also the financial support issue. even at the age of 18, there are so many things kids need to rely on their parents for. college, food, transportation...it's hard.

i think i understand what she's going through and why it's hard for her, because it sounds a lot like what i've lived with. my mom was (is, i guess, although i've since moved out to go to university) mentally/physically abusive, although not enough so physically for me to ever really do anything legally about it. so the situation's not as clear-cut as it might seem to be to you. the important thing is that you are trying to understand and are trying to help her. what she needs is your emotional support and to know that you're willing to physically help her get out of there if she asks for it. uhm...good luck, in all seriousness. i hope she's ok.

Yeah, well we live right near the university we both plan on attending next year. The thing is, we both dont have jobs, and it upsets me when her mom makes her cry. Its bullshit. I want to help her but all I can do is pick her up to hang out at my house, I dont know what to do about when she is stuck at home.

That's a pretty good time, so you guys must be fairly serious. Will her mom not let her get a license/car?

Also, jobs are key. My girlfriend and I have a lot more freedom since we have more money, and she gets a lot more time away from home. (she doesn't have a car either, her mom is really restrictive)

You could offer her to live with you, but I'm sure your parents would freak out. I was thinking of the same thing, but my house is too small.

Psycho bitch mom's are.. well.. a bitch to deal with.

I know how you feel... My dad won't let my boyfriend come to my house which is the only place where we can be alone because his psycho girlfriend cussed me out and went ballistic on me while threatening to call the cops on me and him. I want to leave but don't really have anywhere to go. At least your girlfriend still has her father though.

I know how you feel man.

Me and my girlfriend have been going out for about 1 year and almost 2 months. Im 16 and shes 17. My gf's parents are both horrible people. They make me sick to the point where I literally think I'll puke.

My gf is overweight and her parents are constantly emotionally abusing her. It sure as hell isn't like her mom is skinny either. They are fucking so mean. I was outside with her while her dad was bbqing and he said somthing along the lines of "I should stop bringing plates out here and just throw these hot dogs into your mouth, like farmers do with their pigs". She cried and ran to her room with me. Her fucking mom comes in there like 40 min later and says some shit like "I can't do anything about it" I wanted to kill her for that, she could always stand up for her and yell at him like any other good mom would.

Her mom is always screaming shit like "Are you fucking eating again?! You better have the fucking house clean when I get back or you ain't goin' to (my name)'s house this weekend! Fucking stop eating all our food!"

My gf is terrified to eat in her house. She told me today that she would never eat in her house again and that she has to go out with friends to their houses to eat because her parents will yell at her if she eats around them. She wasn't kidding either, she actually went to her friends house to eat dinner and she ate like a small bowl of salad.

Her parents are non stop yelling at her and I want her to move out, even if it's to a group home because thats better then the shit hole shes in now. She doesnt want to though because she would have a harder time getting to my house to see me. I feel so useless.

I dropped her off last night and was saying goodbye at the door when her mom came into the front hall. The first thing out of her fucking mouth was "Of course you put on some more weight eh? You have to cut back on the chips" in the meanest voice ever. My gf looked like she was going to cry and her mom said something like "get the fuck to your room, and do the dishes". My gf lost weight that weekend too, mainly because shes too afraid to eat. Her fucking mom had that to say after not seeing her for 3 days. I hate her mom and dad so much.

My gf has depression to the point where she wants to die and anxiety so bad school is really hard to go to let alone go to every day. I am so serious when I say that I believe it is 100% her parents fault.

So you could totally say I think my gf's mom is a crazy bitch and her dad is a fucking asshole.

I know how yall feel. My mom is syko at times. Me and my girlfriend moved out. But due to this place being a bitch to find a job we moved back with my parents. I had a job but they cut my hours. We cant afford a place on about 1200$ a month. Well the apartment yea but there is alot mroe then the rent. Car payment about 300$ insurence for both of us is 275$ rent was 450$ bills was around 260$ and then you got food which we could do with about 100$ so thats around 1400$. Thats without those unexpected thign that happend alot to me. But all I can really say is for atleast one of you get a job. Make it close to a apartment you can afford. Save your money for a few months. Yea I know you want out now, but shit takes time. Get a apartment and both of you move in. I know she dont want to leave but its the only way out. Collage is nice but you never know her mom might auctually do something really physical to her and cant change it. If you cant get a job then I dont know what to tell you. Well hope I helped you, PeAcE

Talk to her mom? My ex girlfriends mom used to bitch and whine about all sorts of things, and sometimes would really put her down, I talked to her, asking why she did that, and that she really hurted her daughter with that shit.. Guess what, it helped

Anyone ever heard of the derogatory term "gook"?

Actually, the full story is this :

During the Korean war, American soldiers, at least the blonde ones, were chased around by groups of Korean children shouting 'mi-guk! mi-guk!'. 'Han-guk' is an adjective meaning 'Korean' in Korean itself, but in fact the particle 'guk' means person. The word 'mi-guk' actually means 'beautiful person', literally, and is the word used by Koreans to this day to refer to Americans.

Of course, what the soldiers heard was 'Me..gook' - i.e. 'I am a gook' - and so they started using the sound 'gook' to refer to Koreans, and later all Asians, in an insulting and derogatory way.

How ironic is that shit huh?

Of course, this may be apocryphal, but hey I lived there for a coupla years, and this is the most convincing etymology I could find. Should be true, if it isn't.

Not a lot of people have heard about that kind of thought. Now you have have.

Yelling is one thing, emotionally abusing someone by yelling and screaming is totally different. If a parent yells to the point where the person their yelling at cries everday then that is in no way acceptable.

Okay, she's a legal adult and needs to start standing up for herself and acting like it. You, on the other hand, can help her do this. Help her find a way to tell her mom to either start treating her the way she deserves, or she'll leave. and if her mom refuses, she needs to follow through with moving out.

There is no reason she should be putting up with this treatment from her mother, and all she needs to do is realize that she's not dependant on her mother anymore. it's a hard mindset to break out of, but if you help her to i'm sure she will be able to.

Well, depending on how nice your parents are, you two could move in together at YOUR house. My boyfriend and I moved in together at my house 8 months ago, and now my parents basically have decided they have another kid. He smokes more often than me but he laso cleans the room like once a week and helps me with my homework if I'm overwhelmed, so yuh know.... If she's really the nice beautiful person you make her out to be you might be able to strike a deal between parents, as long as your parents have a little bit of a disposable income the extra food and shampoo shouldn't be too bad

Ya if she could move in with you that would prob be best.

I wish my gf could move in with me but her parents would never let her. They would totally freak out even at the suggestion of it.

If her parents are controlling then it's prob out of the question.

why don't you see if she can move in with you and your family? Try explaining the situation to your parents(if they're reasonable).

If possible, next time her moms screaming over something ridiculous, call your parents over quickly and be like "listen to this bullshit she has to put up with".

Once she's living with you she can get a job and you should as well and offer to pay room and board or rent.

I really don't see why your parents would disagree with that if you both had jobs.
