Alright, so I was in the shower, soaping myself and what not, day dreaming, when this little kid (4 or 5) bursts in and starts peeing on the toilet. I'm a little bit shocked. I just stand there for a bit, then peep behind the shower door and tell him to fuck off and go to the other toilet. He says he can't.

So I just kinda stand there. Feeling really uncomfortable. I'm a really private person and this was really bothering me. And in todays "kiddy fiddlers everywhere!" society, you can never be too careful...So I freak out and scream at him to piss off really loudly. This seems to get his attention and he runs away. So I shut the door, and continue showering, wondering what the situations going to be like when I leave.

As soon as I get out, his dad's there all angry at me, telling me not to ever speak to his son again like that, blah blah. He tells me that he never raises his voice or swears at him (subsequently, the kid never listens to him). I was expecting him to apologise on behalf of his dipshit kids behaviour, but no, I'm lectured instead. My other flatmate chimed in as well, condeming my behaviour.

So totse, do you think how I reacted was unacceptable? What would you have done?

Maybe you shouldnt have sworn at him, but you definately were in the right telling him to get out and give you privacy.

Edit- I guess I should give a real response too. Was there no shower curtain? Why didn't you lock the door?

If it was me, I would have just let the kid pee and then afterwards been like "It's not polite to use the bathroom while someone's in the shower", but at the same time I don't think what you did was wrong.

Look, when you share a place, you share a bathroom. If you can't stand the idea of someone coming in while you shower make sure to tell everyone that might enter.

After that, lock the door.

And, if you still have problems, stop showering. You really have no other options. :\

In this day and age then you're probably right to protest loudly.

What happens when today in school if when that kid draws a pic of you , with over emphasised adult genitalia (ie with pubic hair). And peopel, exactly this does happen because adult genitals do fascinate small children...the size, the hair etc etc.

no shower curtain. The glass was kind of steamed though. Yeah I don't bother locking it because you can hear someones in the shower if you go anywhere near it, though from now on I will.

I would have done the same, I got severely pissed off when a younger sibling of mine fucked with the handle to unlock the door to use the toilet. I told them to get the fuck out I'm showering and they ran off...leaving the god damn door open. So I have to turn the water off, and put a towel on...then close the door to get back to my damn shower. I don't think you acted wrong at all.

My little cousin, and her friend drew their dads naked for school one time. Her friends dad was asian, and probably semi realisticly depicted, and the picture of my uncle had a penis hanging below his knees. Everyone got a good laugh, and I'm sure she will to someday.

I think you acted totally in the right.. maybe a little far on the swearing part. But nothing I wouldn't have done in the same place(not that it really means that much.. it's totse after all).

In this day and age you REALLY can't be to careful.. like jack said.. if this kid draws a pic of you at school.. and the teach kinda freaks.. and has the kid talk to the school psyc.. one of the LAST things you want him to ever say is he watches you in the shower, and you're ok with it.

I've heard of parents getting child molestation charges on them for sleeping in the same bed as their 6 year old because when the 6 year old relayed said thing to a teach at school, his/her wording made it out to be really fookin bad.. I'll see if I can find a link to any such case.

Eh, I don't see the problem with the kid doing that. Then again, I have to share the bathroom with five younger siblings. Not much privacy at my house. Ok, I don't see a problem here. I come from a medium sized family, and sharing a bathroom is just a function of the world. If you want to shower, expect someone to need to urinate. If you can't handle that, lock the door, get armed robots to defend you, and glue the toilet seat closed.

Psh. That's nothing. I've had shit like this happen 2 me twice. I hate kids.

Once I was on a camping trip with my family. I was in the campground restroom taking a whiz and this little kid comes in and uses the urinal right next to me. So I'm just standing there pissing and I notice the kids head it turned slightly in my direction. I look at his face and notice his staring intently at my penis. Not just a glance; it's like he was fuckin' hypnotized by the sight of my junk. So I go, "What the fuck are you doing?!" and he ran out.

Then another time I was in a restaraunt taking a shit in one of the stalls. I had literally just sat down and I hear the door open and little feet appear on the other side of the door. Knowing it was probably some little guy that had to go really bad, I hurried up and started to wipe. As I'm grabbing a piece of toilet paper, I notice the little fucker is down on his knees, staring at me under the stall door. I said the usual, "What the fuck are you doing?!" He says, "I gotta go", and stops looking at me. Just for that, I stopped rushing and took my time. By the time I was finished and flushed the toilet, the little jerk was bouncing around the bathroom whimpering to himself.

I don't see what the big deal is about swearing, it's not like the words will burn his eyes out and scar him for life. Most people would have sworn and shouted anyway, as opposed to wanting a child watching them shower.

The kid was my flatmates son at my house.

To all those going on about younger siblings...that's a different kettle of fish entirely. I'm not related to the kid. Therefore, it's much much weirder.

I'm not so concerned about the kids behaviour, kids will be kids after all, and sometimes need an angry naked man to scream at them to learn what to do. what I am angry at is his dad being all tough guy and "don't talk to my son like that blah blah".

Tbh, you should have appologised to the father for swearing at the kid, but then told him how it annoyed you being ranted at over a situation you didn't really create, and even at 5 you knew that if someone was using the bathroom maybe that's a sign you should wait/go elsewhere.

Tbh there was no "right" way of dealing with that situation, don't want to be too nice to a 4/5 year old as a naked male, do ya?
