I'm going out with this girl a couple of times in the coming week and neither of us have much money at the moment

ideas for cheap/free places to go, anyone?

Parks/Nature Reserves/Public Gardens?

Depends entirely on where you live. And the sort of girl she is. And the sort of person you are, too.

Personally I'm very happy wandering around Central London with my someone for hours on end. But I don't think most girls would be impressed with that.

The movies are cheap, and even cheaper (an a real thrill) if you sneak in.

The park doesn't charge (yet), so a picnic under the noon-day sun is nice.

The beaches are still as free as the ocean (just not of ninjas) so go and grab some swimtrunks!

The beach is an awesome idea. But unfortunately, most people dont have access to them.

For cheap dates, stick with walks, parks, maybe coffee or ice cream or something like that which actually is relatively inexpensive in most places. You could make a dinner together or do some kind of baking (cookies or what not). I always like renting movies because that's really inexpensive, at most $3. That beats the hell out of $8.50 each for a dirty seat in a crowded theatre. Anything having to do with the beach, or if you have a place with a nice view that's always nice. Just find a place you two can go and talk. Take some food out to a park and just relax there. More of your personality comes out, and it's better for conversation.

Same here. Its disgusting. Thats why you get a rental, and bring her back to your room. Its more intimate anyways.

yeah renting a film is a pretty good idea

i was thinking of going camping with her if i can find a tent and somewhere to go...

or possibly the beach, the sea is only 20 miles away

Camping is one of my favorite dates. I'm just an outdoors kind of guy. But it's kind of similar to going away for a weekend. It's not exactly a first date kind of thing.

if anything its more of a goodbye forever date

so i wanted it to be kinda special

camping works because its nice to sleep outside, and youre falling asleep with the girl, which is always nice to do

I particularly like crazy mushroom adventures in Chinatown.

I seriously suggest something along the lines of a very quite park or something. Somewhere where you wont have annoying little kids running around screaming. But as someone suggested going to a public park.

They seriously beat going to movies, I've only gone to the movies with my girlfriend once and we've both established that they really sucked and that the 'gardens' were much better.

Purely because attention is focused on only you two, no real distractions and you can be more emotionally connected with her. Sure, you'll get the occasional people that'll walk by, just ignore them.
