Default Brain tumor update part deux

Well I saw the neurologist on Monday and I apparantly do NOT have a tumor. He did say that I have an unusually large number of blood vessels in the brain, but he didn't know if that would cause headaches.:/

So the good news is I'm not going to DIE, but the bad news is I must just really be crazy. I hate it...Because I always feel like there's nothing wrong, but everyone else is always acting like I'm this raving lunatic! I suppose I was almost hoping for a medical explanation so I could be all like, "See? SEE?? I'm not crazy after all!" And then everything would just be wonderful and great.:/

Jackketch: What are your wife's symptoms in her post partum psychosis? Does she have to take medication? Has it gotten worse over time? (The doctors at the hospital think I might be suffering from that, but Dr. Knob has never said this, so I don't know.)

It was 15 years ago and so things have hopefully changed for the better. Back then the'cure' was to lock the women up in dingy cells and melt their brains with Haloperidol (sp?).

'Better' is a relative term but yes normally she doesn't suffer from hallucinations these days etc.

No she hasn't taken any medication for a long time (10 years?). None of the meds seemed to work or they had such vile side effects that she coudln't continue taking them.

What were you like in the first weeks after giving birth?

I'm glad it was nothing serious and life-threatening!

<3 <3 <3

It must be such a relief for you and your family.

I don't see why everyone thinks you're acting crazy.. maybe you just live in a boring town.

Anyway, congratulations on the results you got back.

Well...there is apparently good evidence that PPD is related to the mother's being depleted of Omega-3s? Have you counted up how much your diet provides?

Some say der psy-cho-log-eecal issues be all contiguous with the muscle cramping? Chronic back pain is thus related to what is in the mind.

As the Spine houses Brain material, the Chakra's reflect the Person...

I've found that the 1st chakra at the thpinethszszs base is related (?) to memory & when I work on the muscles 360* around the spinal bottom, I do increase memory access...

Which I most totally hate? So, I'm soon all tightened up again. There's too much I don't want to remember or think about. Too much about others & reality I just don't want to know.

It's a puzzle.

Some say to keep very busy helps? As it leaves one less time to go deep... I know I keep trying to simplify & leave some things alone. It's hard the damn world keeps calling.

Thanks everyone!

And Jackketch: I don't remember what I was like...I was all hopped up on medication because I had to have surgery to repair my uterus right after the birth.

I don't think that's what is wrong anyway...Dr. Knob has never even MENTIONED it as a possibility.

Xiao Mei, you know that they're really the crazy ones, right?

It's in Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five, and it's stuck with me every since.

What those AA jackasses can go and use it, but that's where I remembered it from. But it stands true... Although I've made a very awesome change to it...

Accept what you cannot change.

Change what you cannot accept.

Always know the difference.

Works for me, at least.

Heh, well I've had THREE fortune tellers inform me that I'm going to die at 65, so I guess I knew whatever was wrong couldn't be fatal!

Anyway, I saw Dr. Knob this morning and he's all like, "I told you all this time I told you what was wrong, but you are always in DENIAL." And I watched him speak and wondered if he would be so self assured and....forceful in bed. Why? WHY does he turn me on so much? I'm almost tempted to believe my mother's explanation of demonic temptation...

It's the serenity prayer, AA does use it though.

Ps: Good news on the diagnosis.

PPS: You are still going to die, just don't know when, like most of the rest of us.

I'm going to adopt you as my personal experiment, Xiao. I expect you to still be posting on Totse at 65 so we can see if those fortune tellers really weren't bullshit!

Good to hear that you're not dying, Xiao.

Head doctors often diagnose differently. Your normal doctor probably doesn't diagnose people with post partum depression very often, and the other does. They tend to repeat their successful treatments to other patients, even if your problem is entirely different. Whatever the reason for your depression, the treatment (in terms of medication) will end up being similar. Therapy is where the two differ.

I think (with my limited knowledge) that you're "insanity" just has to do with your upbringing, conflicting opinions (of others and self) and maybe a mild brain whatever. Keep in mind that medical science has yet to understand much of how or why the brain works, so.. /shrug.

Just to comment on headaches, having more blood vessels than normal would probably lead to a decrease in frequency and intensity of headaches, since less pressure would be exerted on brain matter from the vessels.

Get well soon.
