Goddamn - asexuality must rule.
Being asezual would be perfectly awesome. No need to worry about relationships, marriages, anything like that. If you want pleasure, you fuck the girl and it's over. On the other hand, you would lose alot of the spice in life. You might have more free time and be able to pursue the greater meaning or whatever, but you would be that much less human.
So what do you guys think? I would most definitely try out asexuality for a week or two if I was given the choice, just for the experience in knowing what the feeling of not having sexual feelings for anyone is like.

Asexuality, "having no sex or sexual organs."
*Takes out his hatchet* Come here, boy!

Asexuality isn't something you do, it's something you are. But go ahead, let us know

Forget disgusting exchange of bodily fluids. Contemptuous, stare coldly at those who attempt to lead you by your penis. Iron Within, Iron Without.

I realise that, and also the fact that I will most likely never be asexual, even for a short time. Goddamn, right now I'm a horny 13 year old, and I don't expect those hormones to subside anytime soon.
Not that I'm complaining, though.
Jacking off feels GOOD!

There is a massive problem with that, son: You'd become something you weren't before, and thus, you wouldn't be the same.
You might not see what I mean, but though right now you think you want to be made of machinery because it'd keep you safe from your own nature.
Why not, though, surpass your own nature, without needing to become something else? For a fact, though, if your body was to be changed into a completely robotic one, with our current technology, you wouldn't be able to walk much faster than you can right now. Running would take a bit of time to "learn" (you'd have to relearn everything you can and need to do).
The very lack of needing to breath, needing to eat, needing to sleep would drive you insane as your mind is so used to needing it that unless you simulated the process you wouldn't be able to handle it. I've done a fair share of research on this topic, and the only real way of doing this would be a slow replacement of all biological parts with mechanical. Years or nanobots going at it with your organs, replacing them, until you don't even remember what it was like to be truly human.

LOL... so cut your dick off and be done with it, if sex is such a pain in the ass.
(Tips Cap To The Gays, Who're Free To Take That Literally)
Seriously, though. There is no victory over your sex drive. It cannot be defeated, only worked through. And with a healthy attitude, it's much less of a hassle and much more of an adventure.

I sometimes wish I was asexual, and I could also be better of without such silly emotions as love.

No one can cross the same river twice.
quote:You might not see what I mean, but though right now you think you want to be made of machinery because it'd keep you safe from your own nature.
Possibly. I find my flesh to be weak and distracting; however, I also like some of that weakness. I like girls and orgasms and food; it is a flaw, but I confess I do not want to give all that up.
quote:Why not, though, surpass your own nature, without needing to become something else?
Elaborate. Are you suggesting mastering my weaknesses through sheer force of will? Exercising so that I am no longer weak, perhaps; controlling my lusts; ignoring pain as needed. That's a lot of effort, though, and in the end I would still be just a soft and squishy human. In fact, I don't want a body of pure machinery - not yet, anyway. I want a modified body. Enhanced muscles, metal bones perhaps. Mostly, though, more control over my own mind would be welcome. Turning off emotions such as fear or nervousness. Shutting off girlish distractions when needing to be cold and logical. Ending the pain of something wrong when there is nothing I can do about it. As it is, I sometimes make life a hell for me with my fear and worry and shyness etcetera. I am easily lead along by my penis. I am sometimes curled up in a fetal position, vomiting from pain - pain that does nothing but torture me!

Oh yes. I'm not considering doing it now.

That is the goal, my friend! I hope to be unrecognizable, eventually. Computerized implants in my brain - no longer limited by human intellect. Metal body perhaps? Who knows? I just have to survive long enough to see my options.

An asexual would have no interest in "fucking the girl"; the term asexual comes form that these people don't have any sexual desire/orientation.
quote:

Well, I'm not asexual, but I could probably be said to match a lot of what you described (dosn't care for relationships, dosn't want to get married, ect), even though a lot of this probably comes from my being a complete loner. I do have somewhat of a sex drive, but it isn't given much more attention than some porn every now and then. I may feel that I am missing out on some things in life, but I can't say that I think it's related, in any way, to my relative sexual apathy.
Anyways, though, asexuality isn't something you can try out for a few weeks any more than homosexuality is; it's something people either are or are not. Asexuality certainly does not relate to the absence of sexual organs. As far as the desireability of asexuality goes, I could imagine that true asexuals feel rather out of place in most societies, given the obsession most people have with sex. Sure, sometimes I think it would be nice not to have a sex drive, but idealizing asexuality only serves to spread the misconceptions that the asexual community tries to fight (asexuality is a deficiency, it is not a valid sexual orientation, ect).

Re: Goddamn - asexuality must rule.
Mind over matter man. Regard masturbation as purely an excrementory function akin to shitting or pissing and stop giving a shit about the opposite sex. Focus on other things. Develop yourself.
Then when you've matured and are a well developed, balanced individual, search for a "soul mate" so to speak, who you love, and have sex with them, out of love.

Re: Goddamn - asexuality must rule.
^ Lame.
Seriously. Why does the struggle for affection fill people with such frustration? If it was easy, nobody would give a shit. If you could go down to Walgreens and pick up a six-pack of hot girls, what the fuck would we write poetry and brag to our friends about? Boo hoo, it's fucking hard. So try harder!
Trying to shut down your sex drive (jerking of as an "excrement function" or whatever) is pretty pointless. Largely because:
1) Finding your love isn't about removing desire. It's about taking that anxiety and learning to focus it with confidence. Also,
2) If you're jerking off instead of getting laid, you're going to sexually frustrate the shit out of your eventual "soulmate." Sex, like everything else worthwhile, benefits from practice.
Just mellow out about that shit. Admit it to yourself - you like the opposite sex, you like getting laid, you like when someone looks at you just after a thunderous orgasm with joy in their eyes. That's okay! It's not a weakness - that shit has propelled man to his highest artistic brilliance!

Re: Goddamn - asexuality must rule.
Choices are, at bottom, ideas. And ideas are worthless without extensive peer review. Just ask Carl Sagan.
And dude - actual, real-live asexuality isn't a "choice." It's a simple absence of sexual desire. The scientific community is divided over whether it's a legitimate sexual orientation or a sexual disorder, but nobody's arguing that it's a "choice."
