I feel I'm losing my touch. I've never been particularly good at much, nor is my reputation all that noteable, but I've always taken joy in one thing... I've always taken joy in comforting people, giving them advice, but I fear I no longer succeed at even this simple task anymore. I've been looking at all the people I've comforted in life, and all the reassuring comments I've attempted to give to you folks on totse. I just don't think I'm making an impact anymore, I sound so much less hopeful than I used to.All the issues presenting themselves seem to far over my head to even fumble a feasable response to. I mean hell, with most of Paranoid Pothead's problems I have to resist blurting "Damn girl, you're just plain boned!"

I'm sad, feeling like a failure at what used to bring me comfort in myself is possibly the loneliest feeling I could ever feel...

Win A Free Ipod, I don't think you've lost your touch at all. you made your first thread when my girlfriend and i were going through some tough times, and just now we're starting to make things better again. Your posts were enjoyable to read, and you reminded me of the times before i found my girlfriend, when i was lonely, depressed, and borderline alcoholic.

Things really do get better, sometimes it takes a little time, and often times it feels like it won't. Just live life, and it will make itself better. the only time it won't get better is when you focus on the bad, and thus stop living your life.

I'm glad I was able to help out then, I just feel so powerless lately though.

Don't worry about it love. We all go through low points. I haven't seen enough posts of yours to know either way... Or maybe I have. I forget user names.

Due to the like, ten million threads I've made recently, you guys know my problems.

Since this is an emo thread, I have no hesitation about saying that I have been depressed on and off for about 8 years and feel suicidal from time to time.

I feel pretty paranoid at times and think that my friends are pissed at me.

If you still feel like shit, might i suggest a black russian? i just had a couple, and am living proof that it is possible to type while intoxicated.

Seriously though, good alcohol (not alone, with friends) will always help you feel better as long as you don't get carried away with it.

Advice will only help so far as the individual who recieves it will try it; you can't feel useless because people don't try. Co-dependency=low self-esteem...if your advice is good, know that and respect that; if people ARE following your advice and fail, then rework your advice...but if it falls on deaf ears, that is something they are doing to themselves. And you feeling like shit for it is something you're doing to yourself.
