My daughter's boyfriend
So my daughter recently started kindergarden and wouldn't you know it...She has a boyfriend! Anyway, they are very sweet together and so I asked the little boy's mom if he could come over to our house and play this weekend. I thought to myself that this was a wonderful idea, but oh how wrong I was! This kid is like the worst behaved child on the PLANET! He spent the entire time he was at my house running around like a crazy person, screaming and getting into things. And worst of all he doesn't listen AT ALL when I tell him not to do something. Or worse yet, he'll WHINE like I've never heard any child whine before. I had to put him in time out TWICE during the 2 hours he was at my house. I figured he would nbever want to come back here, but I was WRONG. It's like his lifes mission to come here EVERY DAY after school!
So my solution was to only have him come over when his mom was with him. I figured he'd behave better if she was here and that she and I could talk. This turned out to also be a bad idea. Not only is the kid just as bad when his mom is here, but I HATE talking to her! She is quite possibly the most BORING person I've ever encountered! She says everything in a monotone and all she talks about is: Church and her newborn baby and how much she hates nursing him.:/ After 5 minutes of talking to her I kept getting these crazy urges to throw gasoline on her and set her aflame or to take my chefs knife and bury it in her skull. I wondered to myself if doing those things would at all stem the tide of her incessant monologue.
So any ideas on how to get my daughter to make another friend?

Hahaha, what's with this "time out" bullshit? S'it some new age shit?
Just hit the punk square in the face (make sure he blacks out so he wont remember) or just trip him over etc. Have fun with it! Set wire traps, oily floors, mouse traps, etc.
Have fun and good luck
ps. As for the mother, don't let her in your house again - ahhh why not get your daughter to go over there's instead?

Well I did take her over there on Friday, but I still have to talk to the boring mom if I do that. I'm telling you it's like an unreal situation...
And I put him in time out because I can't beat other people's kids, no matter how much I may wish to do so...

That's what you get for not beating it into her to not be a filthy little slut. You should be more like your mother. Afterall, you're mother made you turn out the way you are, and you're a pretty good person, right?

I only glanced at it but an article from Sydney seemed to be saying that mothers could get padded bras & booty shorts etc for their 5 yr olds? Get her a padded bra & some hot clothes & her milk shake will bring all the boys to her yard.
Sure, it'll also bring a bunch of older pervs but that's a price worth paying to be popular!
Errrr...maybe not.

Well I used to get naked with my cousin at that age.. it was a curiosity thing, of course.
His mother is a good church goer? To what extent? Maybe if you jokingly bring up conversation about the two of your offspring being naked together(difficult, I know), she'll think your daughter is influencing her son, and not bring him round again..

Re: My daughter's boyfriend
Meh, there's nothing you really can do about it. You could make up excuses occasionally or try taking them to a play center where you don't have to be around them 24/7.
You daughter will eventually grow out of him. Talk to some other parents and become friends with mothers you like with children around her age. It doesn't take much for children to ditch their kids.
As far as getting naked together goes, it's normal for little children. They don't know what's going on nor that it's wrong. Just talk to your daughter about her "no no's" or whatever you'd like to refer to them as "Private parts", you get the picture. Tell her it's not polite to do those things and so forth, she'll listen to it.
Edit: I like Flock's idea. Make bad impressions on her and she will eventually stop allowing her child to come over. Convince her you're irresponsible and be extremely contridictive of everything she says If she's a typical "soccer mom" which is what it sounds like, she'll run away fast.

It means you wont have to put up with the little shit or his mother and you'll have some peace and quiet.
And it's not like he's old enough to rape your daughter or anything.

Well, considering at that age he'll be growing new ones, I see no permanent damage!
Edit: But on a serious note, just don't let the kid come over. Yes, it's your daughters only current friend, but she'll still see him at school! Not allowing him in your home will eliminate the headache of him being there while encouraging your daughter to make new friends that she can have over.

Oh well, like everyone else said, just act like a bad influence and scare the mom away so that little brat doesn't come back. Eventually your daughter will lose intrest in him anyway, how long do attention spans last at 5 years old?
At least... she's not in high school yet, naked with a real asshole of a guy in her room.

Re: My daughter's boyfriend
Five is getting towards too old to strip off with strangers/in public etc (until they turn 13/14+ plus, that is... ). Yet, it's pretty darn natural for the <5 set?
It's natural to want to cover yourself later, innit? By puberty, most kids don't even want their parents to see them naked. So, kids will dig covering up with encouragement. No?
How could they even really have the concept of it being 'wrong' at five, down on a full time basis? Or at all, sometimes, I imagine. Yet by seven they can hardly imagine random nakedness.
Can you imagine trying to encourage her, at seven, to randomly strip at innapropriate times? Not unless she's got some Bratz Thong 'n Padded Bra for seven yr olds, that she` wants to show off!?
I was looking for that Aus article on sexualizing the <10 set? Didn't quite find it but saw one that talked about how modern kids are so over-protected?
Then those same protective mothers let their 8yr olds leave home dressed like 'miniture street walkers'... True, eh?

Re: My daughter's boyfriend
text book example of a murder/suicide situation.
Other than that, you could just be 'out'. just dont answer the fucking door. if thats not an option for whatever reason, fake a contagious, unpleasant illness. Ever wanted to shake a lepers hand? (if its there).

Re: My daughter's boyfriend
When he's over at your place with his mother there, knock over some cheap vase when he's running around (obviously not in the same roon with her mother) and blame it on him. "I'd think it's for the best he doesn't come here to play anymore". Naturally he'll try to blame you but who believes a kid that young?

Re: My daughter's boyfriend
well, if he's your daughter's only friend, I wouldn't take steps to stop that. after reading your posts, I believe the easiest solutions would be:
a) molotov everything
or
b) have her come over to his house instead.
forget about his mom, she's clearly not helping. what about his dad? and maybe you have some kind of unfurnished room in your house with foam-covered walls so he can't do anything.

This morning she asked me to put makeup on her so she could look pretty.
Glad to hear she's happy and getting used to things.

Re: My daughter's boyfriend
Her dad usually goes to work at about 6:30AM and he doesn't get home until about 4:00PM. Recently he's been working from like 1:00PM until about 12:00AM, though, so he's never around when she's home. He'll be back on days in October, thank God!
And I admit...I put glitter eyeshadow and lip gloss on her!:P She looks so cute and it makes her happy to be like me.(for now)

Leprosy isn't contagious. Unless you also have open sores on your hand.

Don't worry...No daughter of mine is going to dress that way.
I just put a little glitter eyeshadow on her and some glitter lip gloss.
When I first read that you put makeup on her, I got scared and had nightmares of her becoming a prostitot. Then I remembered whose thread this was, and all my worries disappated even before you clarified.
As for the boyfriend, it sounds like he might be old news soon enough, so just wait it out a week or so. If that doesn't work:
