You guys know me, no bel-air on this one.

So I meet this chick in an online chatroom, just me, her, and this other guy in the chatroom. They're both 16 (or so they say), the guy is from Southside Chicago and lives the typical slum lifestyle. He sells drugs, has a lowlife mother, has no idea where his dad is, and plays off the "I'm the badass that deserves pity" act to the girl in the room. We talk about a buncha stuff, college, sex, movies, politics, and that stuff. Later on the guy leaves and just me and this girl are talking. She confesses that she really didn't like the other guy on account she thought he was full of himself. She also admits she lied about her age to appear more than she is to the other guy. Turn's out she's really 12 and a virgin after all (That subject came up too, with me confessing to everyone I'm a virgin like I normally do). We end up speaking on MSN for awile afterward, and again the next day. I figured she was pretty mature for 12, until she proved me wrong...

Over the period of about to days I try to become friends, I guess I came off as abit TOO sweet. She ends up developing a crush on me, a crush she belives is undying love. Not wanting to completely destroy her, I kept my distance and tried to remain friends, but recently she discovered I don't really love her back, but more on that in abit.

Over time I found she had INCREDIBLY low self-esteem. No matter how hard I tried not to be intimidating it was VERY hard for her to even show up on her camera to me. Even when she did, she sat there beating herself up and calling herself ugly (Completely untrue, even for 12 she was a complete knockout). I wasnt asking her to strip or flash me or anything like that, I just wanted to see her face and talk to her in person (however in person a camera chat can be). The rest of our video conversations was me sending vidoeo and her sending voice.

Just this morning we were talking about a more sensitive subject (masterbation I think), when she became uncomfortable with it and asked that we don't talk about it anymore. I said it was fine and that we didn't have to talk about anything that made her uncomfortable. Halfway through the next subject things play out like so...

When kids are thinking about suicide, they don't actually want to do it. If she was going to do something so major over that, she would have dropped hints like "I wonder if anyone would miss me if I was gone" or asking you if she died right then would you go to her funeral.

She rang me all suicidal and shit. Saying she was going to kill her self. I told her "If you're going to do it, don't do a half-assed job. Either do it properly or not at all". Then I gave her a few suggestions and hung up. Then she started saving up her medication, and took 200 pills. She died.

...I feel pretty guilty.

You have respect for someone who chickens out of life because they're going through some hard times? I completely lose respect for people like that. It's the cowardly thing to do instead of getting through it. Too much changed in highschool/early twenties to try and kill yourself over it. What I think is amazing when you read about people who probably have the worst life ever and live through it without being emotionally scarred or whatever.

Yeah, I was talking about adults. Hopefully I won't fuck up my daughter's life so bad that she'll want to cash in at 12.

I was just thinking about when I was at the hospital. I would say at least 70% of the people there were committed because of a suicide attempt and I just don't get that. I mean why bother?

Answering a few questions and tying up some loose ends...

Yes, I'm 16, she's 12. At the time she said she was obbsessed with me, my current understanding was that she was 16, only later was I to find out she was 12.

Secondly, I was worried about her for a few reasons. One reason being that I've had some bad expieriences with things along these lines before (For those who remember the girl that I tried to comfort that later committed suicide). Second reason being she's a 12 year old girl with unstable emotions. I wasn't necessarily worried that she had killed herself, but rather tried and perhaps hurt herself.

I found out earlier that she's fine, in fact her friend just prank called me... damn kids...

I had a crazy stalker about 6 months ago, (she still try's to contact me every now and again) well she was following me down the road screaming that if I didn't go out with her, she would kill herself.

There was people all around looking at us, which is why I think she picked that particular time to start. Well anyway she's got this peace of broken glass from off the floor, an she starts cutting her wrists.

Well I turned round to her and said, "I don't love you, if you're going to kill yourself do it properly and go down the arm not across."

It's was actually funny, the expression on everyones faces was just priceless.

Well she ended up screaming at me as I walked off, That was about it.

The thing about that though, is that there have been times where I considered suicide in the past, but now, in hindsight, I am soooo glad I didn't.

Most problems are fixable, or can at least be reduced.

For that reason, I am a bit disturbed by the amount of people in this thread that are in support of it.
