Help with a gift...
Well, my girlfriends birthday is coming up on the 19th. I have no clue what get her. Her best friend says don't buy her anything because she hates getting presents and it would be awkward. She suggested me making her a card or something, but I have no ideas. Any help?

Re: Help with a gift...
Take her to the most expensive resteraunt in town. Write a beautiful card for her, decorate it, write a sweet message.
Then take it to the resteraunt beforehand and ask them to attach it to a bottle of wine, so when they bring it out, it's a surprise.

Re: Help with a gift...
Give her a bottle of whiskey, but slip some roofies in there beforehand.
Fun for both parties.
(Seriously though, Cathartic's idea is pretty damn good. I'm gonna use that one sometime.)

Re: Help with a gift...
Might need a little background information about her, How old is she turning?> What type of person is she? Is she the quite mature type? Is the the loud immature type of person? How long have yous been going out for etc?
Edit: Ffs OP, if you're going to make a thread, reply quickly, because people get impatient (I know you probably can't help it). But I dont care, need information.

Sure...

Ok, don't BUY her anything. Don't give her anything overly costly, but make it something from the heart

She wants something that's meaningful, but not costly. Take her to a park, and have a picnic with her. Give her a flower you picked just for her, or buy her a living plant that won't die in a glass of water. Cook a meal for her and yourself, and just enjoy each other's warmth until the sun goes down. Then lay back and watch the stars together. Make love, if you want, and then take her home.
This works best, though, if you really mean to do any and all of this.

Re: Help with a gift...
Thanks for all the help so far. I guess I should give the details out about now... She is turning 18, and I am 18 (Screw's me outta the wine, and getting someone to pull for me isn't too romantic.). She is pretty much a mature person, but she can get pretty crazy depending on what is happening. We have been going out for 5 months and so far so good. Does that help?

Re: Help with a gift...
Get her a pretty silver necklace. Something simple so there's more of a chance she'll like it. In fact, I'm going to look around on the internet for suitable gifts right now cause I'm bored. I shall return shortly.

I think you should ignore the friend and actually buy her a present.

My ex gave me this watch for our one year anniversary and it is absolutely the nicest present I have ever gotten:

Ooh, cook her a romantic dinner and you can get the wine ahead of time, and get her a little present too.

Re: Help with a gift...
Get her something simple and shiney, like a small pearl necklace or something, but makesure it's 'her thing', but otherwise a decent wine/champaigne and some flowers + picnic or something somewhere very special to you two.
