"I LOVE YOU"?
Ok well last night i was talking on the phone with my friends, we had a 5 way on the phone. 3 of them are my friends and 2 of the 3 are bf & gf. And the other is a single guy. And the 4th person is my gf, that ive knowned for about 3 months and been together for about 10days. Well after awhile the guy with his gf asked me why i dont say "I LOVE YOU" to my gf. Then he asked the same question to her. And this is a guy that says "I LOVE YOU" to his gf every 5 minutes. And when i hear this it makes me feel like hes thowing it out like candy and its not meaningful anymore to her. And i dont want to do that to my gf, i want it to bring her joy everytime i say it. Ok well i do love my gf, but idk if i should start saying it to her. Its only been 10 days. Any advice would be alsome.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
I hate when people say it because they think its part of the script or something...
When you feel it, when you really truly feel it, and you can feel it building up inside you and you'll burst if you dont say it, then its time.

Bingo. And OP, just tell them that over the phone.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
Took me a few monthes to say it to my current gf (and I knew her for 2 years before that). I'm the same as you, only say it when I mean it properly.
Just say it when you think it's right, and trust me, the first time you'll say it, you'ff feel stupid but it's the right thign to do.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
Tough isn't it, when to say i love you. Do you say it when you like 'm more then average or when you would die for m? And won't sayin it scare 'm away or make 'm expect more then is realistic?
I have no help for you at all since i suck at this so basicly this post is useless (but so is life)
Just postin guess cause i know how you feel. There's this girl... but if i tell her i love her... well i know she loves me,but the lives in the uk (i'm dutch) plus... there's ex gf's and.... life is just complicated

Haha, if you wanted to make things interesting, then you say to your friend "Don't say it unless you mean it... and we all know you don't!"

You're married. The OP has had a girlfriend all of 10 days. OP, don't say it for at least a couple months. There's no point unless you're trying to get some ass, and as you're not trying to do that, you really have no reason to tell her you love her right now. Save it for later.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
Say to her exactly what you feel, dont feel that you should tell her this because all of your friends are etc. Because it's not right, I told my girlfriend that i'm not going to say "I love you" unless i'm 100% sure I do. Because otherwise it's just 3 meaningless words put together.
So when I say it, which is when I feel I do it's going to mean so much more. Although it's kinda hard when we have to leave eachother, because saying "Like you" is a bit childish and "Love you" when we surely dont is a bit stupid. But she always manages to say that right things to be, just like I think I manage to say the right things to her.
So, no, don't feel obliged to tell her that you love her, simply because how you've explained it, it seems you don't and why tell her something you don't really mean? Pfft, it's only been 10 days anyway, so dont feel obliged :P
Good luck with your dilemna's.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
The best time to tell some one you love them is when it accidentally slips out. Because then you didn't need to think about saying it to them, it just came naturally.
Well, that's how I've always looked at it.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
99% of people (read: kids, high schoolers, etc.) toss those 3 words around all too easily.
On the opposite end, both my gf and I see the L word as something very big and significant, something with real meaning rather than the 'I like you/find you sexy" meaning that a lot of people have. She's said that she feels she's too young and stuff, etc.
That being said, we've been together for a bit over 3 months, up until yesterday, it's hasn't been said (outside of conversation, not towards each other). She said it yesterday a few times (also many in a note), and that she's been thinking about it a lot lately (last month). This way, I know it means a lot, unlike the words losing all meaning repeated every 5 min.

my boyfriend and i have been dating for a year and a half and he still doesn't say it.
don't wait that long, but at least give it a month or whatever. i really don't thinkn 'i love you' after 10 days is really all that sincere, evenn if you think you mean it.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
Oh ffs... To anyone who read my reply above, ignore it.
She kinda... went back on what she said a minute ago. I got the 'i dont know what love is' spiel and I'm back to where I was before, but worse off, I suppose. It's somehow a feeling that really sucks, but I can't quite spot why. I'm a tad in the dumps right now, for the record. :\

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
Simple, Dont say it unless you mean it. Because otherwise it seriously screws up those words into meaning nothing.
I think that each partner must make it cleat to each other exactly how they feel. Like I said me and my girlfriend will not say it unless we're completey 1000% (1000 on purpose) sure of it.
But, simple terms.... Dont say it unless you are damn sure about it and you've been going out for over a month or a few, because people are often over-whelmed by the whole idea of a relationship for a few weeks, and unless you wait out that stage, it wont' mean as much.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
Actually, this is my first ever serious relationship. I've never actually 'made out' with anyone, because I just haven't. I'm still a virgin, because I'm waiting for the right person and I've only ever had one awkward "I love you", but I kinda changed the subject by saying "Your breathe smells like mint gum".
But, sadly i've had a lot of those melodramatic teenage relationships, which have all pissed me off so much. But I know there is going to be a certain difference with my current girlfriend, because... I dont know, there is really so much potential with us two.

I don't think you clearly understand the meaning of 'love at first sight'.

Re: "I LOVE YOU"?
"I love you"... Three little words that people get FAR to worked up over.
Don't ever say it. Instead, say "I enjoy you", "I heart you", "I hump you", "I <VERB> you".
You'll end up in far much less trouble... Oh, and don't talk to idiot friends anymore in five way voice chats.

If you say it after 10 days then you're confusing lust for love.
