How to light an old flame.
So, I met a girl a while ago.
Totally amazing, I was gobsmacked. Unfortunately she had a psychotic, emo boyfriend.
We went out a few times where she admitted she wanted to be with me, but couldn't out of obligation and fear that the guy would seriously hurt himself.
I wasn't up for being anyone's fluffy pillow so I stopped, seeing the futility of the situation.
Now her boyfriend has broken up with her. I talked to her briefly tonight, she said she was in shock and wanted some time so I told her she could call me if she needed someone to talk to.
I respected her privacy after that.
Unfortunately about two months ago one of her best friends licked me like a summer-treat at a party, thusly spoiling chances?
So, S&A. What do you think of my position? What should I do to win her over?
Specifically, when she asks for 'space', do I respect what she says.
Or do I actually try to help us.
Is this 'distance' thing just some kind of convoluted evil woman-test where they ask you to respect them but they want the knight in shining armour routine?

Re: How to light an old flame.
In any situation try as best as you can to make it more simple.
In this situation, whether you got "licked like a summer treat" or not is irrelavent.
The simplicity lies in the fact that she wanted to be with you more than the prat of a boyfriend (I remember posting some advice about that a while back).
The prat boyfriend is now out of the picture...Like she wanted.
I would say talk to her and ask her why she's so shocked that the div broke up with her.
You may find that she's the needy type who liked your attention but loved being needed by the idiot!
Simplified: Talk to her and see where you stand as a potential couple. All systems are go as far as I can see. If she really wanted you at all she wouldn't have any problems with getting with you now.
And above all...Make sure you're not going to get screwed by someone who is the needy attention seeking type, mate.
Hope that helps buddy.

I lol'd.
As for your problem though, may as well do the whole knight in shining armour thing. I mean, she was with an emo before, and you know they don't do that kind of thing (well I hope they don't, they might impale themselves on their sword halfway through the rescue).
Of course it all depends on the girl, but if she's as amazing as you say, then you'd better do something, before some other emo shmuck tries to get his end in.

Thanks, guys.
I'll get on the phone to her once she's calmed down and try to catch up with her.

Re: How to light an old flame.
Just do your best to stay out of the friends zone.
Don't want to become her emotional tampon, do ya?
