Default A little bit of relationship advice, totse :)

Well, recently, as many of you know, I just got over somebody that I loved very much and I lost.

I've gone back to school and I've been reunited with my friends from last year that I hung out with, which are very few that I actually enjoy. There's this one guy, Dalton. He's so handsome and has a great personality.

The thing is, I'd be very interested in perhaps dating him some. I get the feeling he likes me as well, the reasons are very elementary, but I am in 8th grade so give me a break. He always makes sure we sit together at lunch. I have him in a few of my classes and he always asks me to be his partner, even though there are many of his guy friends in there.

Also, I understand these as just signs of fond friendship but he always flirts with me. He says stuff to me sometimes to indicate that he likes me, indirectly.

I'm horrible when it comes to dealing with things like this, you may have not suspected. I'm very old fashion and I'd be emberessed that what I would tell him may be a little bit far past his years, since everybody I give advice to(outside of Totse, as well) is much older than me.

I'd like to invite him to hang out. I'm just kind of paranoid about it because we hang out with quite a large group of people and if I get rejected then I'll still have to face him every day and chances are my friends would be like "I can't believe you like Dalton!(blah blah blah)"

Which, I really don't give a shit what they say because I've never really let little stuff like that get to me. I'm attracted to him, so what. I'm just talking about the annoyance I'll face.

I suppose I could figure this out on my own, I'm not completely inexperianced. I'm rather bored today and I was thinking about this and I thought it may be interesting to hear what some of you have to say.

Anyways, advice would be much appriciated.

I can't believe you're thinking about boys in the 8th grade!

We;ve established this, I believe in the last thread I had.

Regaurdless of my age I'm still humand and it's completely natural for me to hold attractions to another human being. I don't see anything wrong with it.

It's not like I'm off having sex and such.

If he gives you hints all the time, then that's a good sign that he may be into you. Or... just want's in your pants, either or.

But you are never really going to know until you ask, or find out. I remember when I was in grade 6/7/8, and I wanted to know if a girl was into me, I'd ask them who they "liked". Most of the time, if they were really secretive about it, it was thumbs up for me.

Orrr, get someone else to find out for you.

You seem very very mature for your age (at least i have had that impression from your other posts).

So quit being a 'girly' , just go up to the guy and ask him! Or even better , blow his teeny boy mind, by going up to him and kissing him full on the lips.

Maybe he'll say 'no', maybe he wants you just as a 'sister substitute', maybe your 'friends' will get 'catty' (that's a given even if you dated Brad Pitt!)

SO FUCKING WHAT?

You like him? He turns you on?

Go get him girl.

Life is to short to waste.

Haha, oh yes. I forgot to add that we've already kissed.

I suppose I'll talk to him in school, Monday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Also, Chineese food I've gotten past the whole "get your friend to ask who he likes" thing . Thanks for your advice, however. I see where you're coming from.

Anyhow, I agree with jackketch. If there's mutual attraction, just ask him to hang out/watch a movie/whatever, no point in waiting. And man, when I was in 8th grade, I would have KILLED to have a girl I liked come up to me and straight up kiss me out of nowhere...that probably would have changed my life to be honest. All boys your age are secretly scared shitless of girls, that's a fact. So you might as well make a move!

and try not to worry about the social stuff that would happen in the case of rejection. In a few years or less, all that minor shit will seem ridiculous to you.

I could care less about gossip, it's just our friendship that I don't want ruined. If I get rejected things will be awkward between us. He's one of the only people I get along with in my school and makes my day seem a little less than eight hours. I would be bored out of my mind if he wasn't there and I enjoy the relationship we have now. I'd just like to have an excuse to hang out outside of school

I mean, do you think he does like me? Maybe this is just how he acts towards all of his girlfrineds. I get the sign, he's never actually told me that he thought I was hot but all of our friends that we hang out with at school tell me I am and they all agree on it. Perhaps this is just a sign that he does, I normally don't tell the person I like that they're hot because I don't want them to think I'm attracted to them.

Meh, I think I'm putting too much thought into this. I'm just going to go right up to him and tell him that we're hanging out this weekend. Fuck! I just remembered I have to go to my dad's house Which is 8 hours away from here. I'm probably not going to be as confident next week. Well, I could just mention that we need to hang out some time and see what his response to that is.

I think something would happen with us but every time we try to be alone somebody always comes up to one of us and ruins it. Actually, I'm pretty positive he would be more open with me. Which is why we need to be with eachother outside of school.

I hate hormones

I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound like an old fart...I just think of myself at 13 and how much of a kid I still was. I grew up very sheltered, though, so that probably had a lot to do with it.

My god this thread is old!

I never ended up making a move on him. We're still really good friends and flirt a lot. I just can't bring myself to it.

Just mount him. If he pushes you off, pack up your shit and leave, theirs nothing more to say. Although, I doubt he would push you off.

Well, it's like this;

I really don't want to risk loosing his frienship. I get along with 3 people in my grade, Dalton(The guy), Grayson, and Tim. I fear that if I do something like ask him out or confess my "true" feelings and he didn't respond well school days will end up going really shitty.

He told me the other day when I was absent from school that he really missed me and fell asleep in all of the classes we have together because I wasn't there. He also said we needed to hang out outside of school some. I don't want to stress this too much and I'm just waiting on him to do something else.

I can risk making a move on him at the end of the year because I'll be going to highschool next year and I've got a lot of friends there. I actually prefer solitude but I do need somebody to laugh with. Plus, I like my friends I have now and it may be awkward between all of us if there's tension between Dalton and I.

He like you like crazy. I swear on my life that if you make a move he'll respond positively, or he's gay.

One or the other.

Haha. This does help but I'm horrible with things like this in person. I cannot communicate with people emotionally worth a shit. I know I won't end up doing it. If I do I'll just make a fool of myself and fuck it up.

You can't fuck up mounting someon, it's not possible. Invite him to a movie at your house and just snuggle up with him or something lame like that. He'll kiss you if he's not a pussy/gay.

You really don't understand. I trip over my speach when I'm nervous or uncomfortable and I will sound extremely stupid.

Edit: I'm sorry if I'm being contridictive towards you. I just have low confidence, which isn't good. I do appreciate everything you've said and your ensurance . Thanks, buddy!

Why do you have confidence issues? You think your emotions aren't valuable? Aren't worth being expressed? Piss on that, girl...you're worth as much as anybody and should be well aware of that. When you start asking yourself 'Why should I?' and 'What will happen?' slap yourself in the face - living in the past and future is what makes life so short for many people. Live in the moment: If you feel something, atleast express it! You like this chap...show him and tell him. Be fearless young one.

We're the only ones posting. There's no actual need for a thread.

On another note, I rock ass.

Edit: Thanks for ruining this post Hex, although you're right, and it seems really weird that she has so little confidence in real life and can lay her emotions out so clearly on the Internet.
