I was just wonderin, it came up in a thread a while ago and it turns out I'm not the only one that's noticed this.

I posted "Oh man, not cute every girl thats ever said I was cute nothing happened, give up now, thats one word you never wanna hear, so deceptive."

and Chinese Food52, Lotek and Harman Kardon all kinda related to this a bit. What the fuck is up with that word, I hate it personally but does anyone else get it often and how do you deal with it?

Usually when called "cute" or if my car is "cute" or somethin right away I say straight up "_____ isn't cute <insert uncute smartass remark>"

Us girls think lots of things are cute. If I call a guy cute, that's a good thing, although it doesn't necessarily mean that I'd do him. There has to be some aspect of hot/sexiness too.

i used to think cute was the kiss of death, until i met my girlfriend. she thinks im sexy and all that, but she doesnt like the words that go with it. she thinks cute is prettier. so she calls me cute. and she also says that she loves that im "cute", in that sense meaning that i do stupid things.

so. im gonna throw that out there, maybe its not as bad as we thought?

Well, the only girl that was ever really into me would call me "hot". Thankfully, this was only in private though. But from my limited experience I would have to say that being called "cute" isn't a good thing. Sick_Boy is right, girls think almost anything can be cute, from a plaid skirt to a kitten. But seriously, do you want to be placed in the same catergory as that? I thought not.

Women feel a lot more comfortable when approached by cute guys. This gives you the chance to show your charm. I'm a cute guy. The only thing that sucked is that all my life it was girls about 4 years younger than me that wanted me, and no women in my age group would give me a chance. Younger teenage women are too fucked up to date, so I waited to find a good one and now I have a hot 18 year old and I'm 22. I now fuck the girls that the you fantacized about in highschool. I'm happy with being cute. Now my looks have changed a little, my build has increased dramatically, and I've moved to the level of hot.

Girls call everything cute. Unless you're like 14, and noone's really hit puberty yet and it's all "omg he's cute but he has COOTIES!!!!!!" then you should probably disregard being called cute.

I've been called cute by girls I wanted to get with and, as my previous statement would convey, they didn't "think of me in that way"!

This is fine...You can always get them to tell their friends and aquaintances about how cute you are.

Once word spreads about her cute friend, you get a few numbers and some other stuff, which I'm sure you can work out for yourself.

Hell, sometimes your cuteness will be good enough for her friends to do something with you and she'll get jealous and end up wanting you anyways!

Make negatives positive, mate...It can work wonders!

Generally though, cute can be dangerous cos it's something I associate with nice and sweet... Nice guys always finish last, right?

Personally, I use it to describe any guy I find attractive; from moderately to extremely. I just can't bring myself to say "Oh my god, that guy is so hot or "Dude, you're hot". It just makes me feel...dirty.

I'm actually just fine with being cute. I am a nice guy aswell as a gentlemen. Most guys laugh at people like me, until they see my hot ass girlfriend and they're like "WTF?"

It is true, nice guys do finish last, but only in the bedroom.

Yeah same here, at this point I'm pretty much cool with being cute. I think that's part of the trick, being confident even if you know you're cute. You don't have to radiate that you're a wuss just cos you're cute. Just make them see that you're happy being you.

As many people said before me, cute is often a word used by women to express that they find a person (or thing) lesser attractive, either because the person isn't that attractive or the woman doesn't want to start with the greater compliments. In some cases it can show the a person is romantically/sexually interested in another person, but in many cases not (it's perfectly normal to call a kitten cute and not wish to commit bestiality). But the actual meaning of the word refers to a particular way of being attractive, so it seems like it in some cases misused.

For personal opinion, I always find cute persons more interesting than hot and/or sexy persons (lousy pedophilic tendencies ).

I dont really care what people say to me, just as long as they mean it. I mean, my girlfriend calls me cute, I think that's so great. So I think it's definately a good thing.

"Cute" is what girls call you when they think you're ugly, but also too pathetic to call ugly outright. At least, that's what all the girls who have called me cute meant.

I believe sometimes its a good thing. LOL. IDK.

When a girl says you are cute, accept it as a compliment but don't read anything more into it.

You should know when someone says you are 'cute' how they mean it by the way they say it.
