Shy? Socially clueless? One of the things you realise over time, is that it's all in your head, so step forward, and do something that interests you, be it a sport or some other hobby. Meet people. Notice where you go wrong and fine tune your personality for things to work better next time.

If you had previous sucess by going out with the perfect girl, I don't see why it can't happen again.

You're 20 years old. You're not 80, you're not 40, you're not even 30. You're 20. You have no fucking clue where your life is going to go. Maybe the rest of your life will suck. Maybe you'll end up hitting the lottery, figuratively or literally speaking. There's no way to know.

On a more personal note, I'm in the same boat as you. I spend all my time in front of a computer. I have 0 social skills, as far as meeting chicks goes (I'm the ubiquitous "one of the girls"), and do most of my socializing online. So I turned that into a strength. I started visiting singles sites (namely meetme.hotornot.com, which is effective and cheap, and okcupid.com, which is totally free and a lot more interesting but not nearly as popular) and I've met a good amount of very cool people. I've even had 3 friends-with-benefits relationships and a girlfriend come out of it and, to make it even more amazing, every one of this girls who I ended up doing things with approached me first, not the other way around. Me. I'm 5'10 and way around 275 pounds, without an ounce of muscle. Granted, none of them were super models, but they were all very pretty by my standards.

I developed that little mantra back in the heartbreak-aftermath days. You say it whenever too much shit is pounding around in your head or when you're starting to hurt again, over anything, or when you're having doubts about yourself or your life or anything at all, really. When you find yourself worrying too fucking much and confusing/depressing yourself because of it, just stop, take a breath, and say "Fuck it."

Repeat "Fuck it.", or if you like, follow it up with a nice "Fuck it all. Fuck it all to hell.", or maybe just a few "Fuck this shit"s; whatever works. I'm serious: being able to throw your worry out the window is a valuable healing/moving-on ability that, while it can cause you problems if you don't keep yourself in check (it just takes common sense), it can also help you just STOP worrying/thinking about shit and relax a little. Try it sometime; you'll get the hang of it.

Oh, and I'm no psychologist, but you already know I'm a perceptive motherfucker with a deep understanding of psychology that developed because I've known many, many people, not to mention my degree in the subject, but I give that much less credit than just people experience. Seriously though, something is even worse. It's evident for me, which is why I'm browsing and actually posting in this forum for once. It's when you have something in your grasp but you have no idea what to do with it, and you fear you'll lose it. And having the gnawing feeling in your gut that if you blow this one, there won't be another one like it.
