I've been talking to this girl a lot lately, mostly over AIM. (Although this is because she's not at the same school as me right now, but she is probably transferring to mine pretty soon)

She knowns I've had a crush on her, but made it clear that she doesn't feel the same way. I've made it clear to her that I don't want to talk about guys with her, and she seems to be OK with that.

Am I a friend, or just an IW? Is there even a difference?

You've stated you want to be more than a friend, and so you are not quite friends. Yet you restrain from actually BEING more than a friend. Thus, you must be something else. Perhaps an Intellectual Whore.

Being an intellectual whore has nothing to do with your situation. An IW is someone who uses numerous people for emotional satisfaction. For example, those girls who talk to 5 or 6 guys about her problems, depends on them to comfort her, however doesn't give them anything in return. She basically leads them on, thinking, that maybe on day, they'll get some action but she knows they never will.

I have no idea where you'd put that concept in with your situation.

You like some chick, she doesn't like you. You don't want to hear her talk about sucking someone else's dick because you'll be jealous or hurt, whatever.

You're going to see her around school hanging around other guys, you'll eventually get so jealous that you'll beg her to stop. She's going to look at you like you have two heads because you don't own her and you'll become distanced. She'll never go with you or see you more than just a friend. After you show your jealousy that'll push her away even more. So no, you're not an Intellectual Whore.
