I've related the story here before about the guy who slapped Kelly's ass, and how he got a 1911 jammed into his temple for it..I won't lie: I'm a red-blooded male who feels mildly embiggened (a perfectly cromulent word) at the memory of that, and I don't mind how macho I'm sounding about it. And even if I did endanger a life, not control my anger as much as I should've, act rash and instinctual, and keep my finger on the trigger with the safety off, I feel that my actions - or at least the end purpose, if not the means - were perfectly justified. And I made his ass apologize to her, too, so I made sure she shared in the victory.

I think its funny. When you beat someone up over the, "my woman is with you" mentality, thats immature. What's stupid is when your a guy, and you just like, look at a girl who is with her boyfriend, and the boyfriend gets mad. Happened to me the other day. I was at Perkins with a friend, and we were sitting at a window seat near the entrance. 2 guys and 2 girls (all ghetto-fabulous/wiggers) come in. You see people walking in, your most likely going to look to see who is it and if you know them. I looked at them for like, 3-4 secodns at most. The girl comes in and says, "what is this, some fucking show?" pretty loudly. The boyfriend then comes to the front of the row and just stares at me. All I could do was laugh! Its a small guy too. Probably... 15-16 while I'm 17 and pretty strong. He wanted me to come outside to "talk". I'm laughing about this right now lol. I go outside, and he tries to punch me in the face. I grab his arm, elbow him in the face, and drop him on the ground, then walk away. My friend and I get in my car, and go home. It was done in like, 3 seconds. I loved it lol.

My only experience in this situation was about 6 months ago.

After my girlfriend of 4 years broke up with me I turned to a bunch of my friends who helped me deal with the massive loss. One of my friends in particular was really helpful since he had recently found out his girlfriend had cehated on him and he had broke up with her. It turned into a "friends-in-loss" situation where we used each other for support and communication between our ex's. However, it was through his ex that I found out that he had fooled around with my ex-girlfriend shortly after we broke up. Sadly I was then shipped off on a family vacation where I sat in a brooding pain that eventually led to a suicidal nature.

I got better, but I always vowed that if I saw him I'd punch him in the face for all the added pain and disloyalty he showed me. Its not over the fact that he took my ex, its more that he showed this sort of disrespect. I mean c'mon, thats on the top of the Guy Code.

This is a good point you put forth. I do agree entirely, although for her specifically, well, she would've been upset had I NOT done something - Granted, she didn't likely expect me to jam a .45 into his temple and force him to apologize to her, but if I just didn't say/do anything and let him walk off like the cocky little prick he was, it would've offended her, and made me look like a sissy to her. What can I say? She was one of those ladies who wanted to be treated like a lady.

Besides, I've witnessed her kick some ass, anyway, so her and I both knew that she was more than capable of protecting herself and defending her own honor. But, I had the worse temper, and the handgun.

If that were to happen where im from, the fucking color blind kid would have told all his buddies that he beat the shit out of you. Rape in my mind is one of the worst, if not the worst, things you can do to a girl (or anyone for that matter although not many guys get raped that I know of) and is an offensive that should be punishable by death. Some people are talking about vigilantism. They want to bash heads if their friend, gf, wife, sister, mother, whoever was raped or battered. I haven't been in the position, so I don't know how I'd react. If I could keep my cool, I'd do everything I could to see that the law gives them their due. If that fails, I again say I don't know what I'd do.

Well, as with anything I would consider these some of the most elementary values and ethics one has as a person. It's like trying to convince a kid that believes mexicans are bad otherwise when his parents have been telling him that since day 1.

Even myself, granted, I agree with you in the 'walking away' department, when it's just words etc.

However I think that in some situations women can't defend themselves (be it for physical aspects) and if it is not an incident that involves the law then I believe some people need to be straightened out.

It's just making someone remember to be a gentleman, if they spit at a girl and call her a slut, then they need to be reminded of good manners. Like spanking a kid so to speak. Not that I condone or endorse that, but you get the idea.

It is generally not worth the drama, but I have been in the same position I think. I was hanging out with a girl when he ex called her cell phone, he left irritating and immature messages. I left it alone until she got a call saying things about how he was going to choke her and kill her and shit like that. I called him right there and left him a piece of mind. I found that a stern word is just as good as a beat down and if anything happens again I will make sure he won't ever say a word to her again.
