Default Does anyone know a "good" marriage?

Granted, not all the marriages I've seen have ended in divorce, but I can't say that I know of any marriage that has lasted, is healthy, loving, and supportive.

My grandparents aren't bad I suppose, it was a second marriage for both of them, but they do seem to care about each other. However, I never see them show much affection for each other, its more that its just Not disfunctional. Same for other couples. It may not be Bad, but its not anything that I'd want for the rest of my life.

So, does anyone here know of a marriage that is completely enviable? Do they support each other, say nice things about each other, look each other in the eyes with that loving look? How long has the marriage lasted? It'd be great to hear about some examples because in my life I just haven't seen any.

Thanks.

my grandparents have been married 55 years. they have one of the best relationships i have ever seen and i hope to have something like it one day.

when i am visiting you can catch my grandmother trying to sneak a peek up my grandfather's shorts when he is sitting on the couch opposite eachother and then they joke about her makeing it so obvious and how she's a pervert and stuff. so the spice is still there.

sometimes if they have a small argument, or something is wrong with one of them, they always talk about it which is important.

like one time after dinner something was wrong and after they cleaned up my grandmother was like "ok come here on the couch and let's talk about it" and they did. so they both were open to sitting on the couch and talking until it was worked out.

I think I have a pretty good marriage, and it's getting better. The reason most people cite marriages that have lasted for years and years is because these things take time and effort.

But I think, of all the marriages I've ever seen, my father's is the greatest. These two are wonderful. The take care of each other, they are affectionate with each other, they stick up for each other, and they fight once a day just so they can make up. It's so sweet. They've only been married for a little over three years (she's my stepmother), but they're so obviously in love and enraptured with each other... it's so wonderful. I just hope the Chris and I can be like that when we're they're age.

My girl's grandparents are one rock-solid marriage.

They've been married about 60 years now, and they get along great.

Great buncha people, too. The rest of my girls family dislikes me, but her grandmother thinks of me as a grandson.

....who just happens to be schtupping her favorite granddaughter.....

I never realized how twisted that was.....

I hope she doesn't think if it that way.

I can't say that I've seen a good marriage.

My experience tells me that I do NOT want to get married, but I'm an ignoramus, so chances are I'll take the fall and tie the knot with someone. Hopefully I'll be able to rise above the shit I've seen in life and have a good one...

I dont think any marriage is good because it restrains you. It takes away your freedom which puts pressure on you, even if you don' want to use the freedoms.

I'm not going to get married because if me and my girl really love eachother we don't need to.

There are those marriages that are good. My girls parents have been married for 20+ years and still going strong. While my parents didn't work out so well, they divorced about 20 years ago.
