i feel ya. I've been in europe for 2 months, and then i dont see my boyfriend for another couple weeks when i get home because he'll be in guatamala. alltogether 2 and a half months. Just be happy it's only a week you guys have apart, then when you get back, enjoy your time together, and you'll realize not to take it for granted.

Time apart (vacations, not "we're on a break) is very good for relationships, I believe. It shows whether you have decent communication or not ... unless you don't care about communication, in which case you'll find my post completely irrelevant.

Anyway .. for those who actually CARE about having a relationship. Met a guy in college, was engaged, left for the entire summer. Not even a month goes by before he starts drifting away, and then one night he pulled the "oh it's not worth it" card on me.

So ... this time apart, while short, can overall be beneficial. Call or email while you can, but don't demand it every night, because then she'll feel smothered.

As for the canoing trip ... if it's that importatn to her, and the people aren't 100% disgusting (like "Kicked your dog, killed your kitten, and screwed your female relatives), why don't you go?

They are very good. I just felt I should back him up a little, because people were being fucking stupid, inexperienced pricks to him, and so I hoped to give them a little perspective in a language they could understand. And because I'm a hopeless romantic who makes the world revolve around him. I'm not so bad, though.
