My Problem
Ok so heres the deal. Theres a girl that I like and she likes me and I asked her to a movie and she said yes, so we will be going some time this weekend. This isn't a girl taht I just wanna go out for the reason of going out with some one, I want a real serious relationship with her. My problem is that I don't know how to ask her to be my girlfriend. I just can't think of anything swift to say, and I don't want to get shot down/her think less of me because I sounded lame when asking her out or said something stupid. Any help on this would be apperciated(sp?). Like I said all I need is a good line on how to ask her to be my girlfriend, weather it be on the lines of "Hey would you be my girl?" or "Would you like to go to another movie some time but as more than just friends?". Thanks again in advance for you help and mature words of advice, and wisdom.

Re: My Problem
Wait until you go to the movies with her, and see if she's actually worth being in a serious relationship with.
She may be a shit conversationalist, for instance. Or perhaps a dumbass.
If you decide that she's worth being with, just keep going out with her for a while. I'm sure you'll both come to the same conclusion.

Re: My Problem
Don't rush into this man.
Take her out...See what happens and possibly plan another get together.
Go out a few times and get to know each other...Then you can safely ask her for a relationship.

Re: My Problem
thanks for both of your advice. Well we had U.S. History together and thats how I became to know her. Shes extremly smart and does excell in most areas of school. By my accounts I would say shes beautiful. Ive had friends tell me to wait for the second or third date but I don't know if I can. I woke up at 4 a.m. (its 7:15 a.m. now) and tried to go back to sleep but couldn't because I just started thinking about her adn well couldn't fall asleep any more. When we at the movies with a bunch of other people I pulled her off to the side adn asked her to a movie, just the two of us, and she said yes so that lifted a huge weight off my shoulders, now I just have to ask her to be my girl. Shes everything I could want in a girl and well... I dunno I just like her alot I guess. I wanna ask her to be my girl so bad that i've thought of asking her over the phone or net, but I think that kinda might be lame. Once again thanks for your advice and please keep it coming.

Re: My Problem
I've never understood this asking someone to be a boy/girlfriend business. You don't ask someone to be your best friend. It doesn't happen that way. I wont get too into it but its definitely not something you see adults going about doing. Anyway, just do what feels right. Hope it works out.

Re: My Problem
Don't ask her out, just make a move on her. You will just prgres into being "going out".

Re: My Problem
First of all relax a little, remove the pole and don't be so uptight about it.
Now, are your bowels clear? If so, feel free to continue.
I'd go about it by just asking her how far she'd want to go, although movies are a terrible place to talk, I'd try to arrange something else as well. I'd pick the line, "I've been thinking about you a lot lately, and I was wondering if you'd like to take our relationship further?"
Of course that is after a couple of compliments and just talking and relaxing together, make sure you still want it.
Or pick the line that involves leaning forward, and just moving in for a light kiss, it's a lot easier.
Of course that is only after a little bit of a romantic situation, making her feel good and showing her a little more of yourself.

Re: My Problem
Dude you need to calm down alittle otherwise she will notice you being all freaky and might push you away.
Act like you like her but at the same time not be all crazy about it play it cool.
If she sais she likes "Spider Man" tell her you do too and hey the second one just came out do you want to go see it togther. Stuff like that. She tells you that she like Mexican food tell her you know a great place and you will deffinatly take her some day.
Just play it cool if you act all crazy she wont like you anymore.

Re: My Problem
Basically the only stumbling block on your superhighway to success (heh) is her suddenly getting creeped out by how fast things are moving (that, and an olympic swimmer guy moving next door to her house and moving furniture in with his shirt off ).
Going to the movies just the 2 of you IS a date. But one date does not a relationship make. Think about it: is she going to say "yes" to being your girlfriend, ie. going steady with you, ie. shouldn't be seen in public with other guys other than you if you've only been on ONE date together?
Just let the good times roll together, and her attachment to you will be all the ownership you need (do you really need to call her your girlfriend in order to solidify the relationship?)

Re: My Problem
I had this problem just the other day. We hung out for a bit, went to a gig with some people. S'all too good me thought. I told her I thought she was great, she said she didn't want a relationship...? I said fine... Went downhill. I was probably too keen.
Don't be too keen I think is my advice

Re: My Problem
Tell one of her friend that you're going to ask her ut beforehand, and tell her to keep it a secret. Make sure you don't trust her and then she'll tell the girl you're going to ask her out. This is a more sucsessful version of 'tell her you're going to ask her out to ensure sucsess when you do'. It's also easier if she ends up making the first move. That way, you know she's not frigid.

Re: My Problem
Or you could stutter out something like 'do you want... to ... go with me?' and it'll work because you're the main character in a motion picture.
Hint: don't follow that advice.
