by the way, im from the uk, and asking a girl out is asking her to be your girlfriend).

Why not just ask her? It seems a whole lot simpler than some huge complicated "gesture" or whatever to me. Maybe you could take her out at dusk and just sit and talk or something under the stars just coming out, and then lie down and pull her down with you so she's resting just in the crook of your arm all snuggly, and then whisper it in her ear...

Or is that too specific?

Just get to a point where it's implied. That's the only good way, as far as I'm concerned. When you hang out with each other all the time and make out a lot/do other sexual stuff a lot, someone will ask if you're together. See what she says. If it's "yes", then you are. If it's "no", ask if maybe you should be.

Well I'm from the UK to, the way things here work, by here I mean the area I live in, is if you just get to know a girl, get on with her, things will just progress in to a relationship, that's if you want to go out with a girl full time.

But if you want to just go with a girl then just ask her if she wants to go with you on the weekend. Me and my friends usually just arrange for like 3 boys 3 girls to get together, and get drunk, and people just sort of pair off.

So if you've got friends, do that.
