Default The internet is more than a lifestyle; it's a way of life.

Well maybe not for all of us but I definitely know that for me and (apparently) a lot of other people, the internet has become a way of life.

I mean this more than just the sense of "being on the internet alot". I mean it like there's a whole culture. It's not even a sub-culture, it's a real culture. With it's own idiosyncrasies and slang and similarities between people. It just strikes me as unusual (and cool) that so many have so totally embraced something that only began to exist about 12 years ago (in earnest; I know the internet was around before '93).

The internet is definitely the biggest watershed in society since WWII, and I am willing to back that up.

It's wondefully selective socialization. For extremely odd people like myself, I have a better chance of communicating with someone who thinks like me on the 'net than in "real life".

^Ditto.

The other day I found myself talking about totse with a co-worker. He asked if I actually knew any of you. I had to think about that for a minute.

I know your names, your locations, occupations, what you look like, your ages, and intimate details about your personal lives.

Strange, eh? I've had many discussions in real life about conversations had on the internet, and the person I was talking to had no idea that I didn't actually know you.

With most of the bastards its really easy to tell, yeah, you're 15 with an inferiority complex, but when you get into decent arguments you often have no idea if the person you're arguing with is three, twelve, fiften or fifty.

Its cool.

If you're not willing to add anything useful to his topic, why would anyone reply with anything useful in yours?

You'll attract more flies with sugar than shit, perhaps if you pull your weight around here you'll actaully get help instead of derailed threads and flame wars.
