Default How to say "I love you"

Alright, if you remember, a while ago i posted about a girl named "lacy" who i love dearly. I got suggestions from you guys, from friends, from everyone on what i should do about it. I had decided to tell her, and then i didnt, and then i did, and then i didnt. Well, now i have decided to, and im gonna be hangin out w/ her on friday. I cant just outright say to her "im in love w/ you" because 1, i dont have the balls to do that, and 2, i dont think that would sound all that great anyways. Our situation is a lil bit strange. She doesnt like talking on the phone much, and im usually the one to innitate pfone convo or hanging out somewhere, so we talk mainly online. I used to go to school w/ her, but i transferred schools last year, so i dont see her as much. WE are incredibly good friends, imo at least, and we can talk about anything and we are cool about everything. Im incredibly worried about ruining our friendship from what i have to tell her, but i feel that its more important for me to tell her then not to. I finally decided to tell her after havng talked to her for a couple hours where i was basically complimenting her the whole time and i could tell she really appreciated it and the things i was saying.

So now, to get to the point. Im going to tell her how i feel on friday when we are together, but i would like some suggestions on what to say, and maybe even where a good place to tell her would be, and how to act about it, or w-e. Thanks.

Don't tell her that you love her. That will just fuck everything up. Ask her out. Have a relationship. Then get on with the pronouncing your love for her. Don't scare her away with your lustiness.

That actually is a good idea. Once you have professed your love, where is there to go? What is there to build up to? Where is the passion? The drama?

I wasn't aware there was actually more than one way of saying "I love you". Oh wait, there isn't. Theres only pussy methods at trying to dull down the immense meaning of the phrase so people will accept it without freaking out. Don't be stupid like the rest, just say it if you truly want.

It really shouldn't be so challenging. If it's the right thing to do, it sort of comes out naturally and unplanned. Without meaning any offense to the people who post here, you ought not have to ask for advice from random bozos who don't know you or your girl. This really isn't one of those generic questions with a universal answer that applies to most people.

Maybe you're just in love with the idea of being in love. But if it's really love, the proclamation will be just as honest if you do it a month from now.

^Goddamnit, Cindy, you sound like Kelly: "Maybe we're just in love with the idea of being in love..". Blargh.

Oh, and you say it like this: "I need you...babe...Ta put through the shredder in front of my friends, ohhh BAAAABE!! Don't leave me now...How could ya go...I need you, babe...Ta beat to a pulp on a Saturday night, ohh BAAAAABE!".....

cindy has got it right, again. If you're really in love with her (and this is from my single experience of telling a girl that "I love her"), you won't have to plan to declare it, it will come out as naturally as <insert terribly lame simile here>. If you have to think about it, in my experience, you're not really in love. There's a difference between 'loving someone', and 'loving someone', the difference being intensity and purity.

How's that?

A lot of people seem to have forgotten that some people have trouble coming out and saying things or just "don't have the balls."

With my girlfriend the first time I told her that I love her was after drinking a little very quickly, if you really love her then that can make it even harder.

Love isn't pure, it comes with fear, if you really love someone then how can risking the entire relationship come without fear? The trouble I think comes when people over think the situation. If you really are terrified of saying it straight out, there are a few alternatives that take less balls and build you up to saying it. 1. Drink a little before declaring your love, 2. Go with the I think I am falling for you approach, or 3. Ask her if she would be willing to take it any further.

What I can't stress more then anything else, I've worked out from personal expirience is that if something scares the hell out of you, it's generally a good thing. If you feel it will completely humiliate you then you're going exactly where you want to be. There is nothing more difficult then putting who you're out for someone else, if it works there is nothing better but whilst you're doing it you feel so damn terrified you wouldn't belive it.

THe reason im asking for advice is because im scared shitless of fucking things up. I want it to work out, and ive only told one other girl that i love her and meant it in the same way, but this girl that i want to tell friday, i love her more then the previous one. I think saying "i love you" straight out would be too much for her. Idk, maybe i should just ask what other ppl have done when in my situation so i can get a feeling for what to expect, though im sure my situation is different then other peopls.

Maybe I didnt make this clear enough. I dont want to say "i love you" to her. I dont think saying that means very much anymore. I want to say something to her that would be a bit more meaningful maybe, or that would portray my feelings better. Also, I dont want to fuck her and get her pregnant, so I dont plan on doing that. I couldnt really give a fuck about chainy's dog either. Btw, we arent gonna be hangin out tonight n e more... long story, but im really pissed off now.

Dont say "I love you" you'll choke on those words everytime you think about them if you use them, save that phrase for relatives and when your proposing to someone no other time will they ever turn out in your favor. Let her know how you feel, its your only chance and you dont want to regret not doing it, if you get shut down you'll bounce back eventually with in a couple weeks, unless your that big of a pussy, im jk but seriouslly tell her you like her and dont say i love you unless she does which i'll bet you 10$ she wont.

the soap opera??

give her a litlle cup-cake that says 'i love you' on it if you really have to tell her

but really it's not the 'i love you' delivery you have to worry about, it's the 'i love you' return that you should really be worrying over.

Well... i'm almost positive that she doesnt feel the same way as me. I just feel like i need to get it off my chest, and tell her, because first of all, its just been bothering me a lot thinking about it, and secondly, its about her and i feel like she deserves to know. Idk....
