After you cum.....
Things seem a lot funnier. I find that things that are extremely stupid are surprisingly funny (kind of like being intoxicated). What causes this?
I feel like asking something different for a change than the usual "go to the doctor", penis size, and how to do this/that, etc. questions.

Re: After you cum.....
Maybe it is endophines released by your body after such a strenuous act...

It's different for many people. When I finish, I lose all horniness. It's hard to explain, but I just don't feel like anything afterwards. Sexually that is..

Re: After you cum.....
Trivia: Orgasm causes a release of pain-killing neurochemicals (endorphins works, but I don't feel it's 100% accurate), as has been sort of mentioned. Next time you have a headache, make yourself jerk off, and after climax, you'll see what I mean.
Next time you hear "I have a headache", tell her "all the more reason you should give up the goods!".
Oh, and after I cum, everything seems...Hmm...cum-covered.

Re: After you cum.....
Your brain is releasing all kinds of pleasure chemicals during sex so it produces a sense of euphoria. Orgasm is a weird thing though, I believe your heart actually stops and you become almost oblivious to the world around you for a couple seconds.

Your heart doesn't stop. And as for the obliviousness thing, I think it's subjective, simply because I'm still aware of everything else, but I don't care about it or acknowledge it. There is, however, a point-of-no-return for orgasms; that is, a point when you'd still shoot, even if a semi truck drove through the wall.

I wonder if an extremely traumatic event could stop an orgasm. Even if not, the adrenaline rush would totally override the orgasm.
Poster: There is a scientific reason for this. To keep it (over)simple, it's more like being intoxicated than you give it credit for. Your brain releases a lot of pleasure-causing chemicals (hence the pleasurability of orgasm) and the "after-effects" are a lot like opiate intoxication (in my experience, and most people would agree): apathy, euphoria, irritability, tiredness. Totally different things entirely, but it is a lot like intoxication.
Also, the reason it lingers is that orgasm is a chemical experience. For instance, poke your finger with a needle (or something). The pain goes away almost instantly. That's because it's an electrical impulse, and thusly, very quick-acting. With orgasm, your body releases chemicals, and they don't just go away right away, they stay around for a while (I guess it varies from person to person, but for me it's like 20 minutes or so). I guess the most accurate analogy would be the rush you get from IVing drugs, but maybe someone (infra, I'm looking right at you) could verify this for me.

Re: After you cum.....
Goddamnit, mook, for the Nth time, I don't IV. But I have before, and I'll just say that, while the Heroin and Meth produced their effects, they don't compare to "natural" rewarding/pleasurable feelings, not quite. This is because A: You know you did a drug, and thus you know it's artificial, even if you're only aware of this on a subconscious level, and B: There are many, many variables that govern the exact nature of your neurochemical processes, or "emotions", to use another word. An analogy:
Methamphetamine does what it does by inhibiting the reuptake of Norepinephrine (Noradrenaline]; or blocking the chemical receptors responsible for cleansing your blood of it: In a word, it induces the exact same fight-or-flight response as an intense, traumatic event, and keeps your body from reabsorbing the norepinephrine (which would end the response; this is why meth highs last so long, as opposed to gone-as-fast-as-they-came adrenal responses) this is where the vasoconstriction, energy, clearer mind, etc, come from. HOWEVER, it's different from an adrenal response, because you endured no trauma to bring it about. And yes, meth has other neurochemical action responsible for euphoria and the like, but I'm focusing on one only. If you are, say, wounded badly, the adrenal response feels MUCH different, to say the least, than a meth high, even though the same neurotransmitters are responsible for both.
Heroin works by binding to the Mu opioid receptors in the body, and absorbs much quicker due to the diacetylization of the morphine (hence, why heroin is called Diacetylmorphine), and stimulates a release of Dopamine, a neurotransmitter responsible for pleasurable/rewarding feelings. However, again, a Heroin high feels different than, say, feeling good after doing a good deed or eating good food. I know you haven't done Heroin, by the way, but you've done opiates, which is the main experience you need, and yours specifically is sufficient enough to grasp what I'm saying here.
...Heh, sorry, got all BLTC on this. Didn't mean to. What I'm trying to say is this: Neurochemical processes, even if brought about by the same/similar neurotransmitters, vary greatly depending on your psychological state, whatever you did to bring it about, and/or your reaction to an event that brought it about. Orgasm vs. a needle full of smack are two different experiences, y'know?
Oh, and an orgasm can't really be compared accurately to anything of this Earth. That doesn't mean it's the best-feeling: It simply means that nothing out there really, truly replicates it exactly.

Re: After you cum.....
Oh, and something for everyone to consider: Pretty much everything you think and feel is the result of neurochemical action. In a word, things so seemingly abstract as sense of pride, love, fear, loss, thoughts...Are all just the result of certain neurochemicals and electrical impulses. The intense good feelings that you feel, the sadness, the heartbreak...All just chemical processes. It's kind of disheartening, if you ask me, that something so profound as love, or so abstract as thought and memory, isn't really anything special in the end.

Possibly the physical changes and activities in your body during orgasm would go on for a second or more as they are controlled and triggered by the sympathetic nervous system.
On the psychological side, though, I think that that traumatic event would yank you out of it.

Who says so ? Those chemical reactions are just things happening in the physical body. Love, sadness, heartbreak, etc... are not happening in your physical body. It is you, in your consciousness, in your soul, who are experiencing them.
Are you not ?

That's not what apathetic means at all. In fact it's teh exact opposite of that. Apathy is the complete absense of empathy.

Re: After you cum.....
After I cum, I always want more. After sex, I want to go again, but she is too tired, so I usually squeeze one out myself while she puts on a bit of a show for me.
When I beat off, I cum at least twice. Unless it's been along time, then one is plenty. I guess I'm addicted to orgasms.

What the fuck is wrong with you? Can't you quote right?
Anyway, I always find after I cum after jerking off it just deflates and I need to clean up, usually can't get it up for a fair while afterwards. Also, sometimes it feels kind of sore.

Aha, but he didn't say apathetic he said "apatheitc" which could mean anything seeing how it is not a real word.

Re: After you cum.....
Fuck knows, I always just sit, and she sits and nothing is said... everything stops for a minute or so and we don't have to say anything.. we're content.. then we'll go to the toilet, when she gets back I'll just be half way down a cig and she pulls herself into me, wrapping me in her thoughts, her wants, her feeling of safety, someone close, someone to hold. I feel her around me, and it's good. I finish the cig, and feel content in the good feelings I have given.

That only happens to me when I masturbate. It's a completely different feeling when somebody else makes you come.
