Default I'm not cheap, I'm poor

My girlfriend and I will be having our "anniversery" in a few days. One year, sort of. We broke up a few times in there, but we're counting it anyway. I want to do something really special for her, but I have zero money. Anybody have any good ideas or suggestions?

Get her a single red rose. Next year, if you're still together, get her two red roses. Repeat until someone is either dead or leaves the other.

Get her a single red rose and you wont have to worry about next years present, simple as that.

get her whatever. i doubt someone would throw aside a years relationship over a shitty present (and if they do find someone better).

Take her somewhere where you do not need to pay for anything... such as a park, then have a picnic or something... just a suggestion, does sound kind of corny though. Concentrate on the thought, not the gift. You can always make her a card or something.

Make a rubber replica of your erect cock and give that to her...she'll love it. I gurantee. Although how to go about making it I'm not sure. The funny thing is that I actually know a girl who probably would have liked that gift from her boyfriend. This just illustrates an important point, different girls will want different things unless it's expensive jewelry or something but you can't afford that. So, we can't really say what you should get because the only way you can get her something low cost and still have it be good is if it is extraordinarily thoughtful and since we don't know her, we're going to have a hard time knowing what she'll like.

Welcome to the club--our income is well below the federal poverty line too.

My sweety really liked it when I wrote a sonnet for her.

Write her a poem.

Just sit down and talk about how you feel, try to explain to her your financial woes, she will be more focused on the point that you sat her down and talked to her and explained everything than just didn't buy her a gift and left her to hang in the wind.

A few years ago, when my ex-girlfriend's birthday came around, I asked her what she wanted and she did the standard "oh I just want your love" thing, and somehow I ended up getting her absolutely nothing-- that's right, I spent 0 money for her special birthday. She didn't mind, in fact she continued to fall in love with me for weeks...

I have to say that she was the least-maintenence girlfriend I've ever had. Ah, what a time.

So if you really have no money, pull something like that.

Here's a plan dude. Buy 2 roses, and like twist the stems around so they are all intertwined. Then give it to her, and be like "This is a representation of our love" or something like that.

In my experience girls are pretty cheap gift-givers, so just make her some little knick-knack peice of shit and hawk it off as a genuine gift.

Buy her a great big fucking nothing, that's what I did and when she starts bitching about it tell her to shut the fuck up.

well if she's truely a good G/F, She'll understand your troubles. It's a bit unorthodox, but you could always talk to her about a belated aniversary gift.

My g/f is like that, where she has the jobs, and money, and I'm broke, and make it by with max $20 at a time. So she offers to pay for basically everything, but being a man of class, I turn down most of these offers, since I feel it necessary to pay in her stead. Regardless, this isn't about me. I'd say talk to her about it. Communication is the key to understanding.

Alright, well today's the day (sort of, its 4 am, so I'll be sleeping sometime). Thanks for the advice, I'll probably end up making her dinner and taking her to the sunset at the beach or something like that. I think she will understand. After all, it worked on her birthday.

I remember when my ex and I celebrated our 1 year. I spent hella money. Somewhere in the ballpark of $300 (hey, for a 16 year old that's a lotta dough). I probably could have done better with less money. Oh well.
