yesterday on a party I met a girl which had asked me out a month ago. She said she knew me from a school I had left after 8th grade(she was in 5th). But I had to go, so nothing special happened.
Now this time we had more time, she asked me for my number etc. Later this night we were sitting on some stairs and after I tried to kiss her, she told me that many friends of her had given her a warning.
Now am I naive or should I really think about my image? I´m a student for 4 years, and I only had 2 affairs of like 3 monthswith girls from my uni, never a ons, and my ex gf of 5 years lives in a town 70km from here.
Just while I´was writing, I received a SMS from her, she´s sorry, but she was confused because there were so many people ...

Re: image
Fuck it. People will assume and believe bullshit no matter what you do. But that can be a good thing. People think they know you then they speak to you and you prove them completely wrong.
You know how many times I've heard, "Wow, you suprised me, I was expecting ______"?
I feed off of it now. Let people make their half-assed assumptions. That's their bad, not yours.
There's always a but..
But people often have reputations for a reason. Whether or not their exaggerated depends on the circumstances and people around them.
Growing up in Catholic school, I always had a hard time with gossip. As it is I stick out among the freaks and weirdos downtown, you know how much of a difference there was between me and the kids a prestigious private school? I had an image that was constructed from the minds of presumptuous teens and eventually it was thrown away.
I wouldn't strive to change an image or change what people know as my rep. I just pretend like it doesn't exist and act like me. No need to live up to a rep or destroy it. People change what was true yesterday can be irrelevent tomorrow.
Leave "images" up to celebrities.
Sorry if that sounded kind of strange, I"m not quite sober.

Re: image
You're probably a scumbag asshole, but with a little talking you could probably still hook up with her.

Re: image
If people see you actively feeding a negative image, that image will probably stick around longer..even if it isn't accurate about the real you.
Also don't forget that there will always be people who gossip. No matter what.

especially when you reject them. Then they feel the need to make you look shitty, so it´s not that bad for them anymore.

at my uni, I am.
And just for the record, now she invited me for dinner at her home on saturday, so I´m still assuming, that she was tricking me to see how much I like her ...

Just remember: Image is nothing. Thirst is everything. Obey your thirst.
