Ok this has been a debate for ages, Is oral sex considered sex?

Personally i dont think so, i think its just part of foreplay. But i was chatting with a friend of mine yesterday and she said if you give a guy a bj and thats all, that means you just had sex with him. My responce was, "thats fucking bs, cause if you gave him a bj then you just gave him a bj" their is nothing to that. Its another way for pleasure but so far most people have considered oral sex as sex...

Now i know it has the title "oral Sex[/]" but i always thought that penetration was sex, and oral is just a form of pleasure.

What are your opinions on Oral "[i]Sex?"

Do you consider it as sex, or just pleasure like i do?

The moral view:

I've had this debate with a virgin friend of mine. He'll recieve oral but will not have sex till marriage. I think it's ridiculous. If he won't have intercourse for a moral reason he shouldn't have oral sex either. He's sticking his dick in the orifice of a female.

The scientific view:

According to Webster, sex means sexual intercourse. According to Bill, oral sex is not sex. If you trust those two sources, then oral sex is not sex.

The legal view:

There's different terms for oral and penetrative sex. You get different amounts of jail time depends on what(oral v intercourse) you did with whom(age) under certain circumstances(non-consensual).

As far as virginity goes, I'd consider anyone who hasn't had intercourse a virgin. Although virginity is more clear with females than males.

As stated by a couple others, yes, it is sex, just not intercourse. It can be part of foreplay, or it may be the entire sexual encounter. It depends on the situation whether it's just sex, or both sex and foreplay.

I don't know where I stand on this. The epitome of sex for a straight couple is vaginal sex. But the pinnacle of "sex" for a lesbian couple is oral sex. Anyway, my whole perspective on this thing is, basically, "Are you a virgin?" means the same as "Have you ever fucked anyone, or has anyone ever fucked you?"

The second question is less confusing.

So I'd say that oral sex is definitely sex, but doesn't take away one's virginity.

Interesting question. It could be considered a sex act, but if oral sex is all that you have done then you are still technically a virgin.

like others have said...it is a FORM of sex...but it is not sex in itself. you are still a virgin after performing/recieving oral sex.

sex is a general category.

intercourse involves penetration of the vagina with a penis (or other similar object) far enough into the vagina to break the hymen.

The only thing for certain here is that the word "virgin" is an anachronism and the debate here is about semantics.

Did you "have sex" means, "Did you fuck?"

We "had sex" means, "We fucked".

Getting or giving a BJ is "sex" - but it's not "having sex".

Ok, I've looked up definitions of "sex" from a few different dictionaries and I think this is the most accurate:

Thus, intercourse is a FORM of sex, cunnilingus is a FORM of sex, fellatio is a FORM of sex, anal penetration is a FORM of sex and masturbation is a FORM of sex!

Now for the word "virgin" which is antiquated. Most dictionary definitions seem to agree that it is one who "has not experienced sexual intercourse". One can apparently experience "sex" and still be a virgin.

But the original question in this post is "Is oral sex considered sex?" The answer is "yes".

Therefore, "intercourse" and "sex" are not interchangeable terms, and "virginity" is irrelevant to "experiencing sex".

In that case, virginty would only be relevent when referring to a certain FORM of sex. (That being intercourse) D'oh!
