Your thoughts on gay men...
I really don't have a problem with gay men for the most part, but I do find the sexual side of it off putting(to put it nicely). Even kissing is bad to see between to men, never mind full on arse fucking.
I think if you are gay you don't need to make everone aware of it, like gay people who run around and scream like little girls, why do they need to do that, like what is it about being gay that makes people act like that? I say if you're gay fine, but you don't need to announce it to the world.
As far as being the way I talk about gay men, I do use words like faggot as an insult, and if someone was to call me a fag I would take it as an insult. I don't know why, since I really have no problem with gay men, I guess it's just the way I was brought up.
So what are your thoughts and feelings on gay men? What do you think about, gay marriage, the sexual side of things, people who use words like faggot?
Just say what you think.

If they are happy, let them be happy. The more gay guys there are, the more girls there are left single. Which benefits me.

I don't care, really. Do what yhee want, as long as it hurts none.
Oh, and if you don't like seeing two men kiss, how do you think they feel when they see a man kiss a woman?
If you don't like watching gays kiss, than heteros shouldn't be allowed to kiss, either (in public, of course).
There shouldn't be a double standard, it just isn't right based upon our societies morals.

Majority rules... anyway, society's moral code leans against male homosexual public displays of affection. Try walking around a school yard, church... well, most anywhere and ask people. The general consensus, at least amongst men, is that it's wrong.
Personally, it isn't harming me, I don't give a fuck.

Yes, you're setting a double standard. If straight people are allowed to be affectionate in public, shouldn't everyone?
Everybody, if they love each other and really want to be together, should have the right to be legally married. How is it that a drunken Britney Spears is allowed to get married on the spur of the moment in Vegas only to later annul her marriage in sobriety? And Jennifer Lopez, how many times has she been married? How is it that these are legitimate, meaningful marriages and two gay women who have loved each other and been together for fifty years (and maybe even have kids) are a threat to the sanctity of marriage?

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
The only drawback of gay marriages I see are the kids. A kid with gay parents is going to go through hell in school (if he isnt one of the "popular" kids, and if his peers know about his parents). Around High School it wont be so bad, but I would not want to go through junior high having people know my parents are gay.

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
Where I come from, it's fine (gay parents). I have one friend with lesbian mums, another friend with two dads (three if you include her mum's remarriage)...
I think it just needs to be more accepted by people in power, then normal folks will start to think it's not as weird. Anyway, if the kid's not getting teased about his gay parents, he'll get teased about something else. Children are excellent at finding fault with other people.

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
it seems to me that gays today just aren't what they used to be. these days they seem more concerned about child adoption rights than art.
it used to be the case that to be gay meant one had exquisite breeding and perfect manners and a 'boheme' attitude, charm, wit and wealth, was a bon vivant and a raconteur, had a classical education and an appreciation of both wine and culture.
nowadays they let any one be gay!
even the working classes!!
mr.wilde would be distraught

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
There's nothing wrong with gay people. It's their preference. Like whiteass said, more women for me. I don't really care what they do in public or private, I don't care if they hit on me. If they do hit on me they'll understand very quickly I don't swing that way. No offense taken.
I don't use words like queer or faggot around gay people, it's just rude. However when I see my brother's name on my caller ID I answer "Wussup queer?" Just how we greet each other on the phone... we're both hetero and I couldn't tell you where this came about but it's not said offensively.
Bottom line; Gays are no different than non-gays, they should be treated as such.

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
I perceive gay relations the same way I do straight relations. That goes for PDAs, porn, and the relationship itself. The only thing that's different is the people who are participating.
Being gay isn't mainstream accepted yet. Whenever there's a movement going on the people in that movement try to "get it out". Get out the message that there are people in this world that feel a certain way and should be able to feel that way.
Think about how long that person might have been in the closet, frightened to death about what other people will think and say; How they will no longer be accepted as "normal" and all this other bullshit that they have to go thruogh because of ignorant people talking shit. You know how much of a liberating (and scary) experience that must be to come out? How wonderful is the transformation from a closet gay to a "I'm not ashamed, I'm proud of being gay" person? They DO have to announce it to the world, the more parades and concerts and speeches and celebrity support the better. They're being suspended from their rights. You have to be radical when trying to get something previously looked down upon accepted as something "normal".
They are standing up for what they believe. That's commendable.
It's just as stupid for a gay man to run around screaming for no reason as it is a female or anyone else for that matter. I can say I've never seen a gay person start running around and acting like a fool just because they're gay. And if you have, you shouldn't take that as a representation of the gay community. That's like taking OJ Simpson and saying that all black males are killers. It's not true. All groups have the assholes, the weirdos, and the upstanding citizens.
As far as words go, "fag" has taken to mean something negative but not necessarily gay. When people use the word faggot, it usually has nothing to do whatsoever with sexual preference. The dictionary meaning should be changed because people use it more as a general insult than they do as a derogatory term for a gay person. Words are empty. People should be offended by nigger, faggot, wop, spic if it's not directed at them. It's kind of like how Chris Rock says "There are niggers and there are black people. I hate them niggers." Those words describe the scum of a certain group and don't describe the whole group. I'm half Spanish and don't care when people use "spic".
Being prejudiced against gays is exactly like being a racist. If you're against racism than you should be against gay-bashing. You can't choose the color of your skin, you can't choose the gender you're attracted to. That doesn't mean you should be kept in the house if you black and try to act white and you shouldn't have to hide being gay and be with the opposite sex if you're not straight! (Sorry if that paragraph was a little redundant, I'm trying to get a point across.)
Majority rules? So does that mean only white, middle age men in America (if that is still that majority) should have Constitutional rights? That's ridiculous. Majority rules in voting and decisions, not in life.
Society's moral code doesn't mean anything. Society is deteriorating and the moral code is always changing. Remember Civil rights? Owning a slave was acceptable by the "moral code" of the 19th century. It has no bearing today.

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
I love gay men. Especially the cultured ones.
I bring two of them with me shopping, we trash on the trashy clothes and they help me find some of the cutest things I've seen!
And our principal's gay, that just rocks, he's so cool with EVERYTHING.
And where i am gay parents aren't that bad, my friend has two moms, got a little bit of shit in Junior High, but not a whole lot.
But those who drive the point in about the fact that they're gay annoy me. Mentioning it is one thing. Always wearing rainbows and constantly going "I'm here and proud to be queer.." it just gets really annoying.

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
i don't have a problem with homosexuals - be they male or female.
however, i do have a problem with lesbians being made 'fashionable'. i've seen hetero girls make out with each other all in the name of picking up guys. i resent the fact that (and i will say, just to be safe: ) IT SEEMS AS IF guys have made lesbians acceptable, but gay men are not. that is, it is ok for two lesbians to display their love for each other in public, but it is not ok for two men to behave in the same fashion. and i do have factual basis here, i.e. asking guys i know about it. the most common reply to why they like lesbians is because "two is more". so why don't many girls get turned on by seeing two guys 'get' with each other? i dunno it just confuses me haha. hmm.
that is all for now.

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
Women don't usually get turned on by two guys because she can only be impregnated by one of them. It's biological. Men can impregnate women til they're out of semen or the woman is out of eggs...it's built in to us men to be attracted physically to as many women as are in our sight...women just look for their ideal 'alpha male'.

Re: Your thoughts on gay men...
I'm not really homophobic, because I think people who are gay usually don't choose to be gay. They just happen to be gay. It's nature's way.
I kind of think it would be a lot easier if everyone was straight though.. that or bisexual.. that way there'd be no discrimination.
I don't really want to see gay men have sex though, just makes me cringe. I really think it's just an issue made worse by religion and stereotyping.

Except for the simple fact women can be pregnant more than once, so what you say only applies for 9 months.

First off ^^ you suck, I dislike you.
And I'm not gonna repeat shit, because Mr Mojo Risin pretty much summed up how I feel (pretty much.)
Words like faggot (even if the user intends nothing to the gay community, they just happened to use the word) are still harmful, especially if used around young people. It reinforces that "ewww, gay people, I don't want to be a fag because being gay is bad" sort of thinking, which is uncool.
Well, my contribution.

Ah, but these are not real lesbians. They are chicks trying to pick up guys. Guys who give that reason about lesbians are very, very stupid, simply because lesbians don't like men. They like women. Yes, fuckhead, those are two more women that you don't get to fuck!
