Traveling... Fighting?
So in a while I'm going on this trip with my boyfriend and his family. Perhaps I shouldn't even be posting, but I don't care. I need the advice. We're going a long way away, and it's going to be a few weeks. Traveling by itself can be a very stressful thing to do, but I was wondering if any of you have had the experience of traveling with a boyfriend/girlfriend? This has the potential to suck even more if we fight because we're going to be with his family the whole time. I'm just concerned we're going to get is some huge tiff or something and we're going to have no way of escape, as we will be sharing hotel rooms and neither of us even speak the language of the country we will be visiting. Any ideas?

Re: Traveling... Fighting?
Cant say, ive never had a girlfriend ive fought with. Why? Because im not a relationship-whore and would rather be single and free. The only people ive ever dated in my life, were ones that had something real special about them. I can honestly say Ive never fought with an ex. Even when we broke up.
But hey, my best advice is to get some good pills and stay on them, not giving a fuck, because when you dont give a fuck, you wont get in a fight, because nothing is important enough to fight about.
Since i doubt you will take that, i would just say remain cool and talk to your boyfriend about your feelings. Telling him you feel uneasy, may make him take into account your feelings more, and he will be a little more protective on the trip. And have sex, alot of sex. Airplanes, bathrooms, hotel, anywhere you can. Sex is the greatest stress reliever.

Re: Traveling... Fighting?
Never been in a situation that you are going to be in, but if you are pretty sure that both of you are going to get in a fight about something really stupid, before you get on the plane or whatever just tell him that you don't want to fight whil you are on a vacation because a vacation is for having fun and getting away or something like that. I know my advice may sound retarded, but usually you comunicate well when in a relationship and the other person should fully understand the others point of view on a situation, so you can do no wrong by telling him what you feel/think/need whatever. Have fun on your vacation. Why is it so long though?! Three weeks! Yikes!

Re: Traveling... Fighting?
Try to be positive...If you think that there will be an argument or something with your bloke, there's a bloody good chance that there will be an argument!
Just try to get some alone time every day...Time where you can sit by yourself and chill...It's a healthy thing to do!
All the best.

Re: Traveling... Fighting?
easy- just do what ever he tells you, when he tells you and with a smile and good grace.
obey him in everything with no questions.
try it and you'll find you have the best trip ever and you'll really enjoy the time, once you've swallow your pride.

Re: Traveling... Fighting?
Yes, you guys were all really helpful, I'll be sure to remember what you said. Oh, and actual thanks to the people who were being serious.
I'd also like to add that normal people fight. Healthy people fight. Everybody fights. You can see something special in another person and still get annoyed with them every now and then, in fact it's probably better that way. You're not trying to live some dream fairy-tale life, fights bring everyone down to earth and put them on equal ground.
And no, I don't think we'll be broken up by the time we get back. We've had some pretty fucking huge fights, I won't go into detail, but if we still like each other after those fights then three weeks in other countries will be like strawberry milk after drinking diarrhea.
